DANIEL  9: 24 – 27  Seventy Weeks
Jesus' 1st & 2nd Coming Prophecy Correlations
See also INTERPRETATIVE CHART file  &  WEB SITE HERMENEUTICS  file link

Vs. 24:  Seventy weeks (70 periods of 7) are determined upon the people and upon thy holy city (Jerusalem), to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

        Jesus' 1st Coming:

Vs 25:  Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two (69) weeks;or 69 periods of 7’s in other versions: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublesome times.  Vs. 26: And after threescore and two (62) weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

Jesus 2nd  Coming:

Vs. 27:  And He shall confirm* the covenant:   and in the midst of the week He  shall cause the sacrifice and the sacrifices to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations He  shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate

Vs. 27:(Amplified) AND He (God) shall confirm* (strengthen) the (His) covenant (of  70 periods of 7  - upon the people & the city - Jerusalem) with many for one week (1 period of 7):    and in the midst of the week He (God) shall cause (allow) the sacrifice and the sacrifices to cease (thru His permissive will allowing the Anti-Christ’s activities to cause ‘tribulation’ during seals 1-6; Rev. 6), and for the overspreading of abominations He (Antichrist) shall make it desolate, even until the consummation (End i.e. End of the Age), and that determined (God’s wrath at the 7th seal) shall be poured upon the desolate (the unrepentant at the opening of the 7th seal.

Reference “End Of The Age” file for greater detail).

Note:

*Confirm:  Confirm is from the Hebrew word “higbir”.  The Greek word used is “dunamosei” meaning “to strengthen”.  However, some Bible translations like the New American Standard (NASB) incorrectly translates “higbir” or “dunamosei”; to the words: “to make” (“poieo” in Greek) rather; than “to confirm” or more accurately “to strengthen”.  Consequently, inferring there was NO pre-existing covenant “to confirm” or “to strengthen”. This incorrect translation by the NASB literally changes Scripture to it’s detriment.  Only God can “confirm” or “strengthen” HIS COVENANT.  In contrast, the NASB version “to make” is used to heretically infer the Anti-Christ “makes” a “covenant with the people and the city of Jerusalem”!

This is Satan’s counterfeit at it’s best; distorting God’s prophecy of His second coming!  Unfortunately, Pre-Tribulation theology uses this translation in justifying the Anti-Christ “making” a covenant with Israel at the beginning of the 7-year ‘tribulation’ period. It is imperative that a correct translation ‘to confirm’ or ‘to strengthen’ a covenant; be used to show the importance of God’s continued ‘covenant of the full 70 periods of 7s’ with “the people and the CITY OF JERUSALEM”.

Note the ‘confirmation’ or ‘strengthening’ of the entire covenant: this includes the “ability to rebuild Jerusalem”, and applies equally to both periods (69 7’s & the last 70th 7).  Therefore the ability to rebuild Jerusalem is a key “sign” related to both the 1st & 2nd prophecies related to Jesus coming!

=================================

Jesus 1st coming:

According to Daniel 9:24-25 a period of 69 7-year periods, or 483 Prophetic Years (69x7) would pass until the coming of the Messiah.  Biblical prophetic years are 360 days long.  See Rev. 11:2-3, 12:6 and 13:5 which indicate 42 months as equivalent to 3.5 years or 1260 days.  See also Dan. 12:7-12

69 periods of 7 years;  69 x 7 = 483 prophetic years

483 years x 360 days per prophetic year = 173,880 prophetic calendar days.

"King Artaxerxes decreed in the month of Nissan, the order to restore and rebuild Jerusalem." (Neh. 2:1-8).  This may have been on the 1st day of the Jewish month Nissan in 445 BC.   173,880 prophetic calendar days later, the gift of the Holy Spirit was given on Sivan 6, 31 A.D.  as prophesied. (A.D. dates adjusted to our Gregorian calendar of 365.242 days per astronomical year.* 173,880 / 365.2422 = 476 Gregorian calendar years; 445 + 31 = 476)

Sivan 6 is the day on which the Feast of Weeks; aka Pentecost is celebrated!  It is also the month the Law was given to Moses that brings forth the knowledge of sin. Now the Spirit of life has been given!

Caveat: Dates stated are not absolute predictions of prophecy fulfillment.

However, this Analysis IS a compilation of Scriptures that deserve thoughtful CONSIDERATION that we might prepare for a  Possible  “Season” of our Lord’s return, with RESPONSIBLE reactions of the Heart in service to God; building a “Nehemiah type wall of Spiritual Protection” in preparation to overcome the future trials / tribulation / temptations to deny Christ as Lord and God.  ALL Years Are Estimates.

Jesus' 2nd coming:

In the 1967 war, Israel regained control of Jerusalem.

As related to prophecy of Jesus’ 2nd coming, and the ability to “restore and rebuild Jerusalem” (1967), “until the coming of the Messiah”, this prophecy is sustained as a valid “sign” of the “end of the age” for Jesus' 2nd coming.

This correlates with the following 4 events:

1967  +  7 Sabbatical 7-year periods, including the last 7-year tribulational period (aka 7 periods of  7 + 1 (Jubilee) culminating at the Year of Jubilee in the 50th year (7x7+1=50);  1967 + 50 = 2017

This also correlates with the 7-weeks of 7-days plus one day; (7 x 7 + 1 = 50) period of time between the Feast of Passover aka the Crucifixion, and the Feast of Weeks aka Pentecost.

1967  +  40 year generation + 10 years “Days of Awe / Affliction” between the Feast of Trumpets & Feast of Atonement, culminating at the Year of Jubilee on the 50th year.

Note: Israel recapture of Jerusalem in 1967 + 50 = 2017; as God said in Daniel 9:24-27.

Note:  40 years from 1967 was completed in 2007; initiating the 10 years “Days Of Awe” to 2017.

1948 Israel became a nation +70yr. to the completion of all things:1948+70 = 2018.

Note:  2018 marks the completion of the last 10 years “Days Of Awe” plus Jubilee.

Note: The Biblical calendar year spans   2017 - 2018  from the first month of Nissan; in approximately April or May.  Also note 2017 is the start of the last year; whereas 2018 marks the end of 2017; i.e. the completion of all things.  Note the year 2007 / 2008 is 60 years from 1948 & 40 years from 1967 (prophetically) leaving 10 years in both cases to completion.

Prophetically  When  1  DAY  =  1 YEAR  Or  1,000 YEARS:

1  DAY  =   1  YEAR Prophetically, when applied to man:

Prophecy is related to man’s redemption, such as Dan. 9:24-27 69 7’s of days being 483 prophetic years, or the 10 Days (years) of Awe / Repentance between the Feast of Trumpets & Feast of Atonement, or the corresponding 10 days of tribulation in Rev. 2:8-11

Seventy weeks (KJV; 70 periods of  7, NIV) are determined ...  Dan. 9:24

I have appointed you each day for a year.  Ezk.  4:6

After the number of the days in which you searched the land, forty days, each day for a year     Num. 14:34

For the day of the LORD'S vengeance, the year of atonement for the controversy of Zion.  Isa. 34:8

To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;   Isa. 61:2

For the day of vengeance in Mine heart, and the year of My redeemed is come.  Isa. 63:4

1 DAY  =  1,000 YEARS Prophetically, when applied to God:

I.e. Jubilee / Millennial Kingdom:

“One day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day . . .  we, according too His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwells righteousness  II Peter 3:8 & 13

Just as 6 days of the week were meant for man and the 7th day (Sabbath) was meant for honoring God, so to are the 6 Feasts related to man’s redemption and the 7th Feast of Tabernacles related to an eternity with God.  Also the following logic of when 1 day is prophetically speaking of 1 year (i.e. Ezk. 4:6) when referring to man’s redemption; or when 1 day is prophetically speaking of 1,000 years (II Peter 3:8 & 13) when referring to God as with Jubilee / Millennial Kingdom.

Note the Year of Jubilee / Millennial Kingdom starts on the 11th day of the 7th month (the day following the Feast of Atonement / Judgment on the 10th day).  The Feast of Tabernacles is not until the 15th day.  Therefore, it could likely be another 4,000 years after the Millennial Kingdom to the Feast of Tabernacles.

This is likely according to Rev. 20 where it states that Satan will be released after 1,000 years of Millennial Kingdom, then a Gog / Magog  battle will occur, then the "Great White Throne Judgment", and finally completed with the Feast of Tabernacles "New Heavens & New Earth".

CALENDARING  OF  FEASTS  METHODOLOGY

A Biblical year is a Lunar (moon) Calendar 354 days long.  The Biblical Calendar for feasts is initiated by the first sliver of a new moon, and marks the beginning of a month, which is always a sabbath, and the 1st day of the month (even when a leap month is added) ; thereby determining when the feasts will be held per Leviticus Chapter 23. Consequently, the feasts always fall on the same day of the week every year   See Feasts Calendars file.  Note: The Biblical calendar year spans the Gregorian calendar years from the first month of Nissan; in approximately April or May.

In contrast to the Jewish Calendar year averages  363.3 days per year; comprised of 12 lunar months with 29.530573496 astronomical days per month; for a 354 day year; except on leap years where an extra month is added in to adjust to solar reckoning:  To approximately adjust to a solar calendar, a leap month called Adar II comprised of 29 days, is added on: the 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th and 17th year based upon a 19 year cycle.  . This calendar is often (incorrectly) called a “lunar /solar” calendar.  Unfortunately it is neither, or a correct hybrid.

In contrast to a Solar Calendar of 365.2422 days per year (Today’s Gregorian Calendar) 30.43685 astronomical days, per month, average.  Note: the Gregorian calendar replaced the earlier, less accurate Julian calendar.

Jewish Calendaring of Feasts today: Today’s Jewish calendars superimpose a 354 day lunar calendar (Including a leap month Adar II) onto the Gregorian calendar of 365.2422 days per year.  Consequently the feasts then fall on a different day each year; rather than on the same day when based on a lunar calendar; as God had ordained in Leviticus 23.

Christian Calendaring of feasts, such as the “Feast of Passover”; aka Crucifixion of Jesus”, or the “Feast of Weeks”; aka “Easter, or the “Feast of Weeks”; aka Pentecost.  The Christian calendaring of these feasts is also inaccurate; this is due to the overlaying of a lunar calendar, on top of a modern Gregorian calendar, then purposefully adjusting the feasts to fall on predetermined days;  i.e. the Crucifixion on Passover to be on a Friday.

In contrast to the Biblical Prophetic Calendar of 360 days per year.  See Rev. 11:2-3, 12:6, 13:5 and Dan. 12:7-12 which indicate 42 months as equivalent to 3.5 years or 1260 days; 360 days per year (also used by Babylonians)  This is the calendar used in prophecy of Jesus 1st coming in Daniel 9:24-26,  then reconciled with the other calendaring methods mentioned:

Jesus' 1st Coming Timing & Date Calculations:

Daniel  9: 25   Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two (69) weeks (or 69 periods of 7’s in other versions)

BC & AD Dates

Arithmetic Calculation Verifications:

Nissan 1,  445 BC   To   Sivan 6,  31 AD:

69 periods of 7 years;  69 x 7 = 483 prophetic years

483 years x 360 days per prophetic year = 173,880 prophetic calendar days.

173,880 days divided by 354 days per lunar (Biblical Calendar) year = 491.18644  lunar years.

354 lunar (Biblical Calendar) days per lunar year  x  .18644 lunar years  =  66 lunar days.

Note:  66 lunar days divided by 29.53057396 lunar days per month  =  2 lunar months plus 7 days

aka  Pentecost / Feast of Weeks on the 6th day of Sivan; the  6th day of the 3rd. month.

Therefore: 491.18644 lunar years (354 x 491 + 66 lunar days)  = 173,880 days:

Nissan 1, 445 BC   +   173,880 days  =  Sivan 6,  31 AD

(A.D. dates adjusted to our Gregorian calendar of 365.242 days per astronomical year.* 173,880 / 365.2422 = 476 Gregorian calendar years; 445 + 31 = 476)

On Nissan 1, 445 BC Artexerexes decreed * to rebuild Jerusalem.  Add 491 lunar years, 2 lunar months plus 7 days =  Sivan 6 (Feast of Weeks / Pentecost).    *The exact date of King Artexerexes decree is unknown; other than the month of Nissan as stated in Neh. 2:1-8.  Therefore, his order could have been anywhere in the month; other than the 1st day.

(Also on the 3rd month, the law was given to Moses; that brings forth the knowledge of sin.  Now the Spirit of life is given!)

======================================

173,880 days from Nissan 1 in 445 BC  to Sivan 6  in 31 AD (Note 445 + 31 = 476 Gregorian years):

476 Gregorian years equivalent to 491 Lunar calendar years:

Lunar Calendar:  491. 18644 years;    (173,880 divided by 354 days per year)

.18644 = 66 days at 354 days per lunar year; 2 mo. 7 days @ 29.5 days/mo.;

i.e. the 6th day of the 3rd mo of Sivan;  aka the Feast of Weeks /  Pentecost.

Gregorian Calendar: 476. 06766 years;  (173,880 divided by 365.2422 days per year)

.06766  = 24.7 days at 365.2422 days per year;

i.e. the 25th day of Nissan (This date has no applicable relevance)

The difference of 66 lunar days versus 24.7 Gregorian days is due to the fact that the Gregorian calendar is 365.2422 days per year, and the Lunar Calendar year is 354 days per year. Given that the Biblical Calendar is a 354 day year, it becomes the most accurate method to apply. These 66 days are then added onto Nissan 1 to obtain the end date of Sivan 6.

Nissan 10:  Jesus' triumphant entry

Nissan 14:  Passover / Crucifixion    (Plus 7 weeks of 7 days + 1 day = 50; aka Pentecost)

Nissan 16:  Jesus' Resurrection
