FEASTS  OF  THE  LORD  -  Lev.  23

COURSE  INTRODUCTION

Syllabus files provided, are a list of all Scriptures from Gen. to Rev. pertaining to the 7 Feasts Of The Lord per Lev 23.  They are presented from a Prophetic, Historical & Eschatological view, listed by Old & New Testament. They may be used for Sermons, Bible Study Groups or Individual Study.  Syllabus files listed in the left column on the web site.  Additional handout supportive course materials for each feast are listed in the left columns.

The study format will progress from an initial overview, identifying the 7 feasts and chronologies.  Next examining the actual feasts with their associated practices, and how they demonstrate God’s covenant, both in the past and relevant to today.  Then we progress to a deeper study of the promises and prophecies from scriptures associated with these feasts - from Genesis to Revelation.  Along the way, we will note those prophesies associated with each feast that were fulfilled, and / or mentioned in New Testament scriptures.  Correspondingly, we will also study those scriptures  (promises)  yet to be fulfilled.

An initial introduction to the “7 Feasts Of The Lord” is presented with insights such as: Elohim, One of the Names describing God; a Historical Overview, an Overview of the Feasts, how Jesus is represented in the Feasts, and the Feasts’ Prophetic Hermeneutics. 

The first four feasts Syllabus files of Passover, Unleavened Bread, First Fruits & the Feast of Weeks are also supported with additional insights such as: the Passover Seder, a discussion on the Gifts of the Spirit and more. 

The Feasts of the Lord are God's Calendar Of Redeeming Grace

The Hebrew word translated "Feasts" means "Appointed Times", as proven by Jesus:

Fulfilling prophetic foreshadowings of the first four feasts in His:

I.e. His Sacrificial death, Sinless nature, resurrection and gift of His Holy Spirit.

Study of the last 3 feasts apply a Bible doctrine of "Eschatology" or "study of the last things":   

  -  Starting at the Feast of Trumpets with the "Days Of Awe" (Repentance).

  -  Including the last (7th) sabbatical year of 7 years to initiate the Tribulation period.   

  -  Culminating with the Feast of Atonement. 

  -  Followed immediately by Jubilee to initiate the Millennial Kingdom.

The Feasts are God's Calendar of Redeeming Grace.

Repent for the Day Of the Lord and His Vengeance is near.

Know the parable of the fig tree... the Day of the Lord is near... this generation shall not pass away until all things come to pass.... but no man knows the day or hour.   Mark 13:28-32,   Mth. 25,   Luke 21:22-32  (paraphrased).  "Who has ears to hear, let him hear..."  Mth. 13:9-17

Course Objective:  To simplify & interconnect a vast matrix of related scriptures associated with God’s redemptive covenant, in the format God provided in HIS Feasts as outlined in Leviticus 23.  Consequently, reinforcing our faith by redemptive promises fulfilled in the first 4 feasts, and preparing our hearts in light of the promises yet to be fulfilled in the latter 3 feasts.  See “Eschatology Introduction”. 

This course material is NOT a suggestion to reinstitute the literal practices of the feasts.

Jesus provided Himself as the sacrificial lamb for the forgiveness of our sins.  However, just as the first four feasts  were prophetic foreshadowing events to Jesus first coming,  so too are the last three feasts related to His prophetic return and completion of His covenant with mankind.

Much like a good book, that requires reading many chapters to build a foundation before the author starts to reveal the interlocking mystery of his drama (i.e. Ep. 2:19-22), so also is the format of this study. It will progress from a basic understanding of the facts, to an amazing matrix of God’s promises; laid-out before us from Genesis 1 to Revelation 22 – all in these 7 Feasts Of The Lord!  The feasts are essentially the foundation from which ALL of scripture is developed; that is to say, the feasts outline God’s complete redemptive plan. 

These Feasts encompass complete biblical history, from the Abrahamic Covenant (Ge. 22: 8) promise of  “God Himself will provide a lamb” to the “New Jerusalem where there is no temple, for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple” Rev. 21:22.

Primary Course Material  is a Syllabus of scriptural references related to each Feast. 

The syllabus is divided by Old & New Testament.  (Syllabus files are in ALL CAPS in list of files)

All scriptural references are in biblical order (Gen. to Rev.).

Additional handout supportive course materials are listed in the left column with NO caps.

To be taught or studied in one of three ways:

  -  Quick Overview of the 7 Feasts of the Lord. 

  -  More in-depth view 

  -  Long-term in-depth study.

  -  The depth of study and duration can span anywhere from 1 day to easily over a year.

I suggest all supporting handout files be printed-out, as needed, from  http://www.feastsofthelord.net  then assembled in order; as listed in the  left column on the web site. These files in the left column (NOT in caps) of the Syllabus are “Handout” supporting files for each feast.

Purchase Videos from referenced vendors or others as desired (Approximately $20 each).   See “Video Library”.  Note: individual scenes can be selected from most DVD videos for classroom presentation as applicable to the study in progress.

Print out selected files for students as desired.

To enhance participants ease of locating scriptures - all scripture references are listed in biblical order for each feast:  ie. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus etc. to Revelation.

Prepare to teach each class by color highlighting the verses in your bible, as listed in the syllabus file, and for the verses listed in the “Handouts”.  Encourage class participants to also color highlight all referenced verses for ease of review at a later time.

“For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.  For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.  Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this world?  Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?”   I Cor. 1: 17-20

Multiple videos, supplemental handouts and photos can be used to enhance your feel for the times, places and festival events at the time of Jesus.  A field trip to the Holy Land Experience, Orlando, Fl. would also compliment the study, for those interested.

Tip: Bring a Bible with tabs for the individual books of the Bible to enable quick and easy referencing, two color markers and a three ring binder for the multitude of handouts.

“May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable to You O Lord, our God and our Redeemer. Because faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes from the word of God, and His Word does not return void… then it is the objective of this study - not to ever increase in knowledge, and yet fail to come to the knowledge of the truth - but rather to be restored in the spirit of our minds, to set our spirit free that we may worship Thee, in order that we might apply our hearts unto wisdom; that is first pure than peaceable, guiding us on how to cast down every evil imagination that exalts it’s self against God, and to bring every thought into obedience to Your will - that we as a body of individual believers might be built upon the foundation of the apostles, Jesus the Messiah; the chief cornerstone,  as a building tightly framed together,  to become the holy habitation of God in the spirit – with the word of God becoming a light unto our feet and a light unto our path.” Glory in His Holy Name. Psm. 19:14  Rom. 10:17, Isa. 55:11,  2 Tim. 3:7, James 3:17, 2 Cor. 10:5, Eph. 2:20-22, Psm. 119:105.

Please observe, that just as all the words of this prayer are scripture, it is God’s word that does not return void Isa. 55:11, NOT our words!  It is my desire to let God’s words do the talking during this study.  My (your) work is to point out the related scriptures for your contemplation and growth in knowledge of God’ redemptive plan for us.  By the grace of God loving preparation time has been expended to develop these study files for your use, and to be a blessing to others.  My prayer is that they support your work, in spirit and in truth to the glory of the Lord Jesus, the Alpha and Omega.  I will also provide any assistance possible that you may request.  Feedback appreciated.  And please do share these files as a  gift of love to as many as possible, by email or printed format.
