Prepare Ye The Way Of The Lord:
Ezek. 33: 3-6
"If when he sees the sword come upon the land, he blows the trumpet, and warns the people; then whosoever
hears the sound of the trumpet, and takes not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon
his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him.
But he that takes warning shall deliver his soul. But
if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come,
and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's
hand."
"CRY aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice
like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, And the house of Jacob their sins.” Isa.
58:1
THE PURPOSE OF THE TRUMPETS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT
A. To summon God’s people to war (Num. 10; Jud. 3:27, 6:34, 7:8-22; Jer. 4:5-21; 42:14; 51:27; Ezek. 7:14; Hos. 8:1; Joel 2:1; Zeph. 1:16) and to celebrate victory afterwards (2 Sam. 2:28).
When you go to war in your land against the enemy…sound an alarm with the trumpets and you
will be remembered before the Lord…and saved from your enemies. (Num. 10:9)
B. To summon God’s people to gather before the Lord
in the tabernacle (prayer, worship, etc.). Trumpets rallied Israel to worship the Lord as their king at Sinai (Ex. 19:16-19).
C. To warn of coming danger such as an enemy attack, epidemic
or a locust plague, etc.
D. To summon the people to their journeys through the wilderness
(Num. 10:2-5).
E. To celebrate the Feast of Trumpets by blowing trumpets
during the feast (Num. 10:10). Israel blew trumpets to celebrate other feasts, the Sabbaths and when offering sacrifices (Num. 29:1).
F. To celebrate David bringing the ark to Jerusalem. David
had seven priests blow trumpets before the ark (1 Chr. 15:24). The ark represented God’s throne (Rev. 8:3-5; 11:19).
G. To announce the enthronement of the king (2 Sam. 15:10; 1 Kings 1:34-41; 2 Kings 9:13). The seven trumpets in Rev. 8-9 will announce the arrival of Jesus as King of kings over the earth.
FEAST OF TRUMPETS
"In the
seventh month, in the first day of the month, shall ye have a sabbath, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a
holy convocation." Lev.23: 24-25.
"In the seventh month, on the first of the month, there shall be
a sabbath for you, a remembrance with shofar blasts, a holy convocation." Ex. 20: 8
"If
thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the
holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking
thine own words: Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places
of the earth ..." Isa. 58: 13-14
The Feast of Trumpets
marked the beginning of the new secular calendar
year (approx. Sept. or Oct.), and began on a new moon when two witnesses said so, and the head of the Sanhedrin
agreed thus each year “…nobody knew the exact day or hour”. See Matt.24: 36.
No one can know the exact day or
hour, as one cannot know the exact day or hour of the new moon signaling the beginning of the festival, but one can know
the season!
“for we know
in part and prophesy in part.” 1 Corinthians 13: 9
“for now we see
in a mirror dimly.” 1 Corinthians 13: 12
Early rabbis and early church fathers agreed that there would be 6000 years or six days of creation, and then
the seventh day of millennium peace would come. According to Scripture there were approximately 4000 years from
Adam to Yeshua. Add 2000 years and we should be coming to the time of the millennium!
We are very near the seventh day of millennial peace, very near the rapture of the church, which will take place
near the Feast of Trumpets, when the last trump sounds (see Zech. 9:14).
The name "Rosh Hashanah" meaning “New Year” is not used in the Bible to
discuss this holiday. The Bible refers to the holiday as the “Day of Remembrance”, or the “Day of the
Sounding of the Shofar” aka “Feast of Trumpets” Lev.23:24-32.
The blowing of the first trump or shofar, was the
horn of the ram Abraham sacrificed instead of Isaac at Sinai, Exodus 19:19.
The first day in the biblical seventh month called Tishri (Sept. / Oct.) at the Feast of Trumpets
/ Rosh Hashanah is the secular New Year in Jewish culture. Sabbatical and Jubilee years
also begin at this time immediately following the Feast of Atonement (10 days later).
In Hebrew, Rosh
Hashanah means, literally, ‘head of the year’ or ‘first of the year’. Rosh Hashanah
is commonly known as the Jewish New Year, the start of a new calendar year. This is a time to begin introspection,
looking back at the mistakes of the past year and planning the changes to make in the new year.
In
Judaism, the first month of Nissan 1 (in April or May) is the biblical New Year for the purpose of counting
the reign of kings and start of the lunar months to calendar the feasts.
Trumpets / Rosh Hashanah is called the Day of Remembrance and the Day of Awakening. Awake
you sleepers from your sleep! Raise yourselves you slumberers! Examine your deeds and
unto God in repentance abandon your evil ways. (see Is. 51:17)
In Jewish tradition, the 10-day period from Feast
of Trumpets / Rosh Hashanah to the Feast of Atonement / Yom Kippur, the two high holy days of Judaism, is called the “Days
of Awe" (i.e. 'Awe of God') / Affliction” unto repentance. Jewish tradition holds
that, during this 10-day period, divine judgment is rendered to determine whether a person will continue to live or die
in the coming year.
See: Tribulation for 10 days, Rev. 2:10.
It is believed that God reviews the books of judgment on the Feast of Trumpets on Tishri 1, in
Sept./Oct., and metes out final judgment on the Feast of Atonement / Yom Kippur on Tishri 10. These
ten days are believed to be the last chance to repent before God’s judgment is finalized for the coming year.
For Christians, the “Last Days” period is the last chance to repent before the Judgment of
mankind, prior to the Millennial kingdom separating true believers to reign with Jesus a thousand years.
According to Judaism, on the Feast of Trumpets / Rosh
Hashanah, the Books of Life and Death are opened by God in heaven. They are shut by Him on the Feast of Atonement / Yom
Kippur 10 days later. It is also believed that the gates of heaven are opened on the Feast of Trumpets / Rosh Hashanah
and closed on the Feast of Atonement / Yom Kippur.
The shofar is a ram's horn which is blown somewhat
like a trumpet. The shofar's sound is a call to repentance during the Days of Awe.
The "first day of the seventh month, Tishri, will be a day of rest, reminder, and blowing of the shofar - a holy
convocation", Lev. 23:24-32. The next 10 days between Trumpets / Rosh Hashanah and
Atonement / Yom Kippur are called the Days of Awe / Days of Repentance.
"And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince who stands for the children
of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time:
and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book."
Dan. 12:1.
"And the LORD said unto Moses, 'Whosoever hath sinned against Me, him will I blot out of My book'
" Ex. 32:33.
"He
that overcomes, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life,
but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels." Rev. 3:5
"And
I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the
book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works."
Rev. 20:12.
During this period, Jews seek forgiveness for their sins so that they may be written in the Book of
Life for the coming year. A popular greeting is “May you be inscribed in the book of life for a good
year”. Each person is accountable for sins committed first against fellow man, for
which he submits a guilt offering in Temple, and then for sins against God, a sin offering.
"If therefore you are presenting
your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there
before the altar and go your way; first be reconciled to your brother and then come and present your offering."
Matthew 5:23-24
According to Jewish tradition the Book of Life for the wicked and the Book of Life for the righteous
are opened on the Feast of Trumpets. As the Judge of the Universe reviews mankind’s deeds, He inscribes
the name of every individual in one of these books. Judgment against the wicked is final and irrevocable;
they will have life cut short in the coming year. For those recorded in the book of the righteous, the
Lord will be merciful. For the remainder, those not written in either of these books, the sealing of
their fate is deferred and hangs in the balance until the Feast of Atonement / Yom Kippur.
If they sincerely repent during the Days of Awe,
tradition holds that God will grant them life. Reflecting this tradition, the common greeting during
the 'Days of Awe' (i.e. Awe of God') is “May you be inscribed in the Book of Life”.
King David penned the words, “Let them
be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous” Psalm 69:28.
For Christian believers:
Ezekiel
33: 3- 9 speaks of a sword coming upon the land and the blowing of the
trumpet to warn the people to repent of their sins:
"If when he (the watchman) sees the sword come upon the land, he blows the trumpet, and
warns the people; Then whosoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and takes not warning; if the sword come, and take him
away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood
shall be upon himself. But he that takes warning shall deliver his soul." Ezek. 33:3-6
True believers worthy of entering the Millennial Kingdom
(Jubilee) will be tested. This period will be one of encouraged repentance through “tribulation”,
starting at the Feast of Trumpets and culminating at the Feast of Atonement, aka Judgment.
The biblical sequential order in the latter days for Christian believers will be
the following: A period of encouraged repentance starting at the Feast of Trumpets, and culminating at the Feast
of Atonement, followed by Jubilee (the Millennial kingdom).
“Now learn a parable of the fig tree (Israel); When its branch is yet tender, and
puts forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near,
even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”
Mark 13: 32-34 (Fig Tree/Generation/Last Days)
“For these be the days of vengeance,
that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give
suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people. And they
shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down
of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
"And there shall be signs (6th seal) in the sun, and in the moon, and in the
stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; mens hearts failing
them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
"And then shall
they see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come
to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draws nigh.’ And He spoke to them
a parable; ‘Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of
your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye
that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. Verily I say unto you: This generation shall not pass away, till
all be fulfilled.” Luke 21: 22-32: (Fig Tree/Generation/Last Days)
“And as Jesus sat upon the Mount
of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign
of Thy coming, and of the end of the world? - There shall be false Messiah’s, wars, famine & pestilence
(Rev. seals 1-4)… When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet
(Dan. 9:24-27), stand in the holy place, (whoso reads, let him understand:)
… For then shall be “Great Tribulation”,
such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. … For as the
lightning cometh out of the east, and shines even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall
fall from heaven (6th Seal), and the powers of the
heavens shall be shaken: And
then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in
heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming
in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet
(Ezk. 9:14-16), and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of
heaven to the other.” Matt. 24: 3, 15, 21, 27- 31 (Last Days)
“But who may abide the day of his
coming? and who shall stand when he appears? for He is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap: …
Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance
was written before Him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon His name.” Mal. 3:2,16
"Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be
taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matt. 13:40-42 (Rapture)
TRUMPET
VERSES:
The last trumpet (Zech.
9:14-16), a horn of the ram spoken of in 1Corinthians 15:52, will be blown by God (just as when God gave the law to Moses – Ex. 19:16)
at the Rapture, and at the resurrection of the dead to meet the Messiah and reign with Him a thousand years:
===========================
“I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day, and heard
behind me a great voice, as of a trumpet, Saying, I am Alpha and Omega,
the first and the last: and, What thou see, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches …”
Rev. 1:10-11
“In a moment, in
the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound,
and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” 1 Corinthians 15:52
"For the Lord Himself
will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with
the Trumpet of God: and the dead in Christ will rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall
be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so shall we forever be with the Lord."
I Thess. 4:16-17
“And
the LORD shall be seen over them, and His arrow shall go forth as the
lightning: and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with
whirlwinds of the south.
The LORD of hosts shall
defend them; and they shall devour, and subdue with sling stones; and they shall drink, and make a noise as through wine;
and they shall be filled like bowls, and s the corners of the altar.
And the LORD their God shall save them in that day. (Zec.
9:14-16)
"And it came to
pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the
voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled…. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spoke, and
God answered him by a voice."
Ex. 19:16, 19
“And I saw the
dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life:
and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” Rev.20:12
(see also Dan.12:1 & 7:10; Luke 10:20; Rev. 3:5-6
& 21:27) and enter into the presence of God to “tabernacle / dwell”
with Him forever." See all of Revelation chapters 21 and 22

1st Theme of the FEAST Of TRUMPETS - REPENTANCE:
Refer. Lev. 23:24-32 and Ezek. 33:3-9
“Have mercy upon me, O God, according to Thy loving-kindness: according unto the multitude of Thy tender
mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. Against Thee, Thee only, have
I sinned, and done this evil in Thy sight: that Thou might be justified when Thou speak, and be clear when Thou judge.
Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, Thou desire truth
in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Purge me with hyssop, and
I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the
bones which Thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from Thy
presence; and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and uphold me
with Thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto Thee.
Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, Thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of Thy righteousness.
O Lord, open Thou my lips; and my mouth shall show forth Thy praise. For You desires not sacrifice;
else would I give it: You delight not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken
and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise. Do good in Thy good pleasure unto Zion: build Thou
the walls of Jerusalem. Then shalt Thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt
offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon Thine altar.” Psalm 51
“Turn you at My reproof:
behold, I will pour out My spirit unto you, I will make known My words unto you..” Prov. 1: 23
“Sow to yourselves in righteousness,
reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till He come and rain righteousness upon
you.” Hosea 10: 12
“Repent ye: for the kingdom of
heaven is at hand.” Matt. 3: 2
“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive
you.”
Matt.
6:14
“Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not
every one that says unto Me, ‘Lord, Lord’, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will
of My Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in Thy name? and in Thy name have cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works?’ Then
will I profess unto them, ‘I never knew you: depart from Me, ye that work iniquity.’ “ Matt. 7: 20-23
“Now I rejoice,
not that ye were made sorry, but that ye are sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry
after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. For godly sorrow works repentance
to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world works death.” 2 Cor.
7: 9-10
“Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands,
ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter
be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He
shall lift you up.” James 4: 8-10
“If we confess our sins, He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1
John 1: 9
2nd Theme of the FEAST Of TRUMPETS - TRIBULATION:
FEAST
OF ATONEMENT
Rev. 17 & 18
In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall
afflict your souls, and you shall not do any work ... For on that day he shall provide atonement for you to cleanse
you from all your sins before the Lord. Leviticus 16: 29-30
Feast
of Atonement / Yom Kippur is probably the most important holiday of the Jewish year. Feast of Atonement
/ Yom Kippur occurs on the 10th day of Tishri. This feast is instituted at Lev. 23:27
The Feast of Atonement is also associated in Scripture with the Judgment - upon the return of Jesus
our Messiah.
To the Jew, the name "Yom Kippur" means "Day of Atonement,"
and that pretty much explains what the holiday is. It is a day set aside to "afflict the soul," to atone for
the sins of the past year. On Yom Kippur, the judgments of God entered in the books of Life are sealed. This day is, essentially,
your last appeal, your last chance to change the judgment, to demonstrate your repentance and make amends.
To atone for sins against another person, you must first seek reconciliation with that person, righting the wrongs
you committed against them if possible.
To the Christian, the Feast of Atonement
has been satisfied by Jesus for the forgiveness of sins to those who believe, and holds the promise of redemption from
the final “Great White Throne Judgment”; at the time of “Ingathering” at the Feast of Tabernacles.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind:
Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away.
So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just,
And shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” Matt.13:47-50
On the Day of Judgment at the Feast of Atonement we will be judged by our belief
in Jesus and rewarded according to our works to join Jesus in the Millennial Kingdom / Year of Jubilee.
Belief in
Jesus:
“That if thou shalt confess with
thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (see also Romans 6:23, 8:1 & 1 Cor. 15:3-4)
Works:
“For whosoever will
save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for My sake shall find it. For what is
a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels; and then He shall reward every man according
to his works.” Matt.16:25-27 (See also Matt.18:4
& 20:16)
“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him?
If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be
ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast
faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. . . See how faith
wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? . . . Ye see then how that by works a man is justified,
and not by faith only. . . For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”
James 2:14-18,22,24,26
“So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.” Matt.
20:16 (See also Matt. 7:22-23, Rom.3:20, Gal.2:16, Eph.2:8,
Titus 3:4-5, James 4:14-15, 5:7-9 & 20.
Because the “Days of Awe / Affliction” are such a solemn time of self-examination, joyful activities
are postponed until after Yom Kippur. The shofar is blown every morning. It serves
as a call to repentance and a solemn reminder that the most awesome holy days are approaching.
Both
Jewish and Christian theology view satan as the great enemy and adversary of God and His people.
In the Bible, satan is often seen in the role as an accuser of God’s people (Job 1:6-2:7; Zech.3:1;
Rev.12:10). Jewish tradition teaches that on the Feast of Trumpets / Rosh Hashanah, satan
appears before the Almighty to accuse Israel / the Church as the books for judgment are opened, in the latter days at
the Feast of Atonement prior to the year of Jubilee (Millennial Kingdom).
Satan is then locked up during the Millennial Kingdom,
after which he is released. The Gog MaGog battle occurs, culminated by the Final Great White Throne Judgment to
usher in the Feast of Tabernacles, aka New Heavens / New Earth and New Jerusalem as described in Revelation chapters 21
and 22.

THE LAST TRUMPET
DAY OF THE LORD & HIS WRATH
J U B I L E E
Rev. 19
The bride has prepared herself,
becoming pure & holy for her bridegroom.
“…for the marriage of the Lamb has come
and His bride has made herself ready."
Revelation 19:7
To understand the Jubilee Year, one must first be familiar with the Sabbatical Year, which is observed
every seventh year (Ex. 23:11; Lev. 25:20; Deut. 15:9; Neh. 10:31).
The Sabbatical Year is also known as the
Year of Release, because farming and debt payments were released (discontinued) for the year (Deut.
15:1-2; 31:10). This was initiated at the closing
of the Feast of Atonement.
Jubilee’s timing was to years (50) what the timing of Feast of Weeks (Shavuot
/ Pentecost) is to days (50). The Feast of Weeks (Shavuot / Pentecost) occurs on the 50th
day; i.e. the day after seven weeks, plus 1 day after Passover. The Jubilee Year occurs every 50th
year; the year after seven Sabbatical years (49 years) according to Lev. 25:8-11.
The Year of Jubilee begins at the end of
7 Sabbatical years of 7 years, and at the end of the Feast of Atonement / Yom Kippur per Lev.
25:9. Jewish historian, Josephus believed that the word denoted ‘liberty’ (Antiquities
of the Jews 3.12.3).
Scripture
lists three requirements for the Year of Jubilee:
- First, the shofar (ram’s horn) was to be blown at the end of the Feast of Atonement
/ Yom Kippur to announce that the Jubilee Year had commenced, Lev. 25:9.
- Second, all hired workers were to be set free, Lev. 25:39-54. This was unconditional liberty. All
bond-slaves were released, even if the Jubilee Year came before the completion of their six years of service.
- Third, all land was to be returned to its original owner, Lev. 25:13, 23-28.
The primary reason for the Jubilee Year was to prevent oppression in Israel, according to Lev. 25:14, 17. An Israelite could hire himself into the service of another to retire a
debt, but he had no right to sell himself or his family forever into slavery. The Lord alone owned
the sons of Israel since He had redeemed them out of Egypt, Lev. 25:42, 55.
In similar fashion, an Israelite could lease his land for a term of years, but he had no right to permanently sell
his tribal inheritance. The Lord alone owned the land of Israel, Lev. 25:23.
God, as Sovereign King of the universe, owned the people and the land.
The Jubilee Year, initiated at the close of the Feast Of Atonement, looks to the restoration
of Israel by the Messiah, and to the resulting messianic Kingdom of peace.
Daniel prophesied that a Gentile oppression would become unbelievably severe at the end of this age.
A wicked Gentile ruler will arise and “he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak
blasphemies against the God of gods” Dan. 11:36. This ruler
will bring terrible persecution upon Israel: “A time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation,
even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered” Dan. 12:1.
When Messiah comes, He will break the chains of Israel’s
oppression. But this deliverance will come only when the nation has first repented of her sin.
The nation must repent BEFORE the Feast of Atonement / Yom Kippur, before the shofar will sound the release of
her captivity (the Jubilee Year). In Messiah’s glorious day, Israel will return to the Lord
and, subsequently, will no longer be bondslaves of the nations, but the redeemed servants of the Living God.
Israel’s oppression will be ended!
When Messiah comes, the great shofar will be blown, and the exiles of Israel will be regathered to
their land. “So it shall be in that day: The great trumpet / shofar will be blown; They will
come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria, and they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt, and shall worship
the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem“ Isaiah 27:13.
In that day, Satan will be banished (Ezek. 28:2,8,13-19), and the rebellion of wicked men will be crushed, Ps.2:9.
In that day, the sons of Israel “shall trust in the name of the LORD”
(Zeph.3:12) and “walk in the name of the LORD
our God Forever and ever” Micah 4:5. And in that day Messiah
shall establish the throne of David and the messianic Kingdom “even forever”, Isaiah
9:7.
Finally,
in Messiah’s glorious day, there will be Jubilee rest for the land and freedom for God’s people. Everyone
shall sit “under his vine and under his fig tree. For the mouth of the LORD
of hosts has spoken” Micah 4:4.

WEDDING
of MESSIAH AND HIS BRIDE:
When you accept Messiah
into your heart, you become betrothed to Him. This is prior to the wedding.
Jeremiah 2: 1-3 speaks of “the love of your betrothals”.
Hosea 2: 19 speaks of "I will betroth you to Me forever".
The Church
is now the bride, but it still follows Jewish wedding tradition:
Ephesians 5: 22-23,
"As Christ is the head (husband) of the church."
2 Corinthians 11: 2,
"For I betrothed you to one husband...Christ".
Also: "though you have not seen Him you love Him" 1 Peter
1: 8
A bride bought
with a price "knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things like silver or gold...but with the precious
blood as of a lamb unblemished and spotless, the blood of Christ" 1 Peter 1: 18-19
"you have been bought with a price" (Christ's
death on the cross), 1 Corinthians 6: 20
But the bride has
to say “Yes” to her betrothed, to give her consent to the bethrothal. "If you confess
with your mouth Jesus as Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved." Romans 10:9
Then the Bridegroom gives free gifts to the bride of eternal life, and the Holy Spirit to reside in us; see Romans 10:8-9
Jesus promised: "I go and prepare a place for you in my Father’s house". John 14:2-3
When
the father approved of new quarters, the bridegroom could claim the bride at any time usually at night with a shout and
blowing of shofar, Matthew 25:6, Revelation 4:1.
But only the Father knows the time, Matthew 24:36
"As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your God will rejoice over you." Isaiah 62:5
"…having
no spot or wrinkle...holy and blameless…" Ephesians 5:27
The bride has prepared herself, becoming pure
& holy for her bridegroom.
“…for the marriage of the
Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready." Revelation 19:7
“The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain
king, which made a marriage for his son, and sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and
they would not come … But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies,
and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city … For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 22:2-3, 7, 14 (re. Yeshua and his bride)
"Blow a shofar in Zion, consecrate a fast,
proclaim a solemn assembly…Let the bridegroom come out of his
room and the bride out of her bridal chamber!” Joel 2:15-16
The gates of heaven will be closed - It will be the Day of Jubilee. The day following
the Day of Atonement, i.e. the Day of Judgment / Yom Kippur when Yeshua returns to earth to rule and reign!
Note: The 7th Sabbatical year of 7 years (Tribulation Period) is the last 7 years
of the 10 years Days of Awe (Trumpets to Atonement), culminating at the year of Jubilee! (Ponder this
until you understand, also see “Last Days Data & Calendar”)
