PURSUIT
OF HOLINESS
Theme for the book of Leviticus
Especially the 7 Feasts of the Lord per Lev.
23
Associated with the Feast of Unleavened Bread; to be without sin; i.e. Jesus.
“… you shall be
holy; for I am holy.” Lev. 11:44
Introduction:
Leaven
(yeast) is used to ferment (spoil) wheat to produce oxygen to puff up the gluten in bread dough. Just as it takes only a little
leaven to spoil the whole lump of bread dough, so does a little sin begin to spoil & soil our spirit
in the eyes of God, until we become completely under the control (spoiled / fermented) of sin.
Your glorying is not
good. Know you not that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that you may be a new
lump, as you are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: Therefore let us keep the
feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and
truth. I Cor. 5:6-8
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.
Then when lust hath conceived, it brings forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, brings forth death. James 1:14-15
On the contrary,
we should “Pursue Holiness”:
For I am the LORD your God: You shall therefore sanctify
(set apart) yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall you defile yourselves with any manner of
creeping thing that creeps upon the earth. Lev. 22:44
You shall keep the sabbath therefore;
for it is holy unto you: every one that defiles it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever does any work therein,
that soul shall be cut off from among his people. Ex. 31:14
“ … turn away your
foot from the sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight,
the holy of the LORD, honorable; and shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, nor finding your
own pleasure, nor speaking your own words…” Isa. 58:13-14

To fully understand the Feasts, one must first
understand the full meaning and implications of the Sabbath as a time of oneness with God.
The
Feast of Tabernacles becomes the ultimate oneness of meeting with God; to “tabernacle” / dwell with God for eternity,
thus the absolute necessity to “pursue holiness”.
Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD?
or who shall stand in His holy place? He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not lifted up
his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully. Psalm 24:3-4
==========================
“Pursuit of Holiness” starts with REPENTANCE:
The period of time between
the 5th & 6th Feasts of Trumpets & Atonement is known
as: The 10 days “Days of Awe” / “Affliction”
Aka:
A time to repent between the Feasts of Trumpets & Atonement before Judgment, culminating at Jubilee; 1 day after
Atonement, which starts at the 50th year; aka Jubilee / Millennial Kingdom.
See
also “Possible Last Days Data & Calendar” denoting the very possibility that these “Days
of Awe / Affliction / Repentance” are upon us:

SCRIPTURAL
GUIDANCE TO THE PURSUIT OF HOLINESS:
Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. Psalm 25:21
He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you,
but to do justly, and to love
mercy, and to walk humbly
with your God? Mi. 6:8
Trust in the LORD,
and do good; so shalt you dwell in the land, and verily you shall be fed. Delight youself also in the LORD;
and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him;
and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:3-5
The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
Psalm 37:31
Mark the perfect man,
and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace. Psalm 37:37
Lord, all my desire is before thee;
and my groaning is not hid from thee. Psalm 38:9
LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that
I may know how frail I am. Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily
every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Surely every man walks in a vain show: surely
they are disquieted in vain: he heaps up riches, and knows not who shall gather them. And now, Lord, what
wait I for? My hope is in thee. Psalm 39:4-7
Blessed is that man that makes the LORD
his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psalm 40:4
I delight to do your
will, O my God: yea, your law is within my heart. Psalm 40:8
As the hart pants after the water brooks,
so pants my soul after you, O God. Psalm 42:1
O God, you are my God; early will I seek you: my soul thirsts for you, my
flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; Psalm 63:1
Whom have I in heaven
but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart
fails: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion forever. For, lo, they that are far from thee
shall perish: You have destroyed all them that go a whoring from You. But it is good for me to draw near
to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works. Psalm
73:25-28
Teach me your way,
O LORD; I will walk in thy truth: unite my heart to fear Your name. I will praise You,
O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify Your name for evermore. Psalm 86:11-12
So teach us to number
our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us:
and establish thou the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish thou it. Psalm 90:12,
17.
I will sing of mercy
and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing. I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when will You come unto me?
I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I
hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. A froward heart shall depart from me:
I will not know a wicked person. Whoso privily slanders his neighbor, him will I cut off:
him that has an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. Psalm 101 1-5.
I will sing unto the
LORD as long as I live: I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. My meditation of him shall be sweet:
I will be glad in the LORD. Psalm 104: 33-34
Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that fears the LORD, that delights
greatly in His commandments. Psalm 112:1
Portions of Psm. 119 read: 1.
Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let
me not wander from Your commandments. Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole heart.
10. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against You. 15. I will meditate in Your precepts,
and have respect unto Your ways. 27. Make me to understand the way of Your precepts:
so shall I talk of thy wondrous works. 34. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; yea, I shall
observe it with my whole heart. 37. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in Your way.
40. Behold, I have longed after Your precepts: quicken me in Your righteousness. 45.
And I will walk at liberty: for I seek Your precepts. 48. My hands also will I lift up unto Your commandments, which
I have loved; and I will meditate in Your statutes. 50. This is my comfort in my affliction: for Your word
has quickened me. Psalm 119:1, 10-11, 15, 27, 34, 37, 40, 45, 48, 50.
The highway of the upright is to depart
from evil: he that keeps his way preserves his soul. Proverbs 16:17
The way of man is froward and strange:
but as for the pure, his work is right. Proverbs 21:8
With my soul have I desired You in the
night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek You early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants
of the world will learn righteousness. Isa. 26:9
And the work of righteousness shall be peace;
and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever. Isa. 32:17
If you turn away your foot from
the sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD,
honorable; and shalt honor him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine
own words: Then shalt you delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause you to ride upon the high places
of the earth, and feed you with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it. Isa.
58:13-14.
Blessed are they which
do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. Mth. 5:6
Either make the tree good, and his fruit
good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. Mth. 12:33
A good man out of
the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings
forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. Luke 6:45
But whosoever
drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give
him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. John 4:14
For if the firstfruit
be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches. Rom. 11:16
The night is far spent,
the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armor of light. Rom.

Know you not that
you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If
any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.
I Cor. 3:16-17
Whether therefore
ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. I Cor. 10:31
For though we walk in the flesh,
we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down
of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against
the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; II
Cor. 10:3 & 5
But the fruit of the
Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live
in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.
Gal, 5:22-26
And be renewed in
the spirit of your mind; and that you put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Heb. 12:14

To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?
