JESUS’ “PAROUSIA” /
“COMING”
At the “End of the
Age”
As a Watchman
Who Sees the Sword Coming ... (Ezek.
33:3-9)
Prepare Ye the Way Of The Lord ... (Mark
1:3)
Repent for the Day Of
the Lord and His Vengeance is near
“Parousia” (Coming) is derived from
two Greek words, para meaning with, and ousia meaning being. Parousia,
then denotes two things:
An arrival and a consequent presence with us.
Paul uses the word parousia in the sense of his presence when he states: “Wherefore, my beloved, as you have always
obeyed, not as in my presence (parousia) only, but now much more in my absences …” Phil. 2:12.
Paul
is contrasting his presence to his absence.
In other words Jesus comes (parousia) to us, and stays with us:
At Easter
/ Feast of First Fruits, and at Pentecost / Feast of Weeks, the gift of the Holy Spirit was given to us, and stayed with us.
See “Gifts of the Spirit” link
This coming and staying presence of Jesus in the Spirit at His 1st coming, is a direct foreshadowing of His 2nd coming and staying presence (parousia).
But every man in his own order: Christ the First Fruits; afterward they that
are Christ's (the “elect”; chosen) at His coming
(parousia). I Cor. 15:23
Jesus’ Olivet Discourse on the “End of the “Age” and on His ‘Coming’:
Mth. 24:3-4 “And as He (Jesus) sat upon
the Mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, tell us, when shall these things be, & what will be the Sign of
Your Coming (Parousia), & of the
end of the world?
Jesus answered and said to
them …”:
Mth.24:5: Jesus warns against deceptions of false Messiahs
/ Beliefs / Gods / Values.
Mth. 24:6
Wars
Mth. 24:7
Famine
Mth. 24:7
Pestilence & Earthquakes
Mth. 24:8 Jesus states that these things are the:
"Beginning of Sorrows" (KJV), or “Birth Pangs” (NIV)
Concurrently described by John as the first 4 “seals” in Rev. 6:1-8
Refer.: "Tribulation to Rapture to Wrath" file link
Jesus continues
by describing additional events to follow:
Mth.
24:9 Tribulation & Martyrs (Christians)
Concurrently described by John in Revelation
6:9-11 as
the 5
th seal following the “Abomination or Desolation”.
Mth. 24:13 "He that endures
to the end will be saved".
Mth.
24:15 When you see the Abomination of desolation
by the Antichrist in the Holy Of Holies …
“Now we beseech
you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him
… for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,
who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God …. then the lawless one will be revealed,
whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming
“Parousia”… whose coming is after the working of Satan …” 2 Thes. 2:1,3,8,9
Mth. 24:21 "Then
shall the Great Tribulation begin …"
Mth. 24: 22
“except it (the Great Tribulation) be shortened no flesh be saved,
but
for the elect’s sake, those days shall be shortened"
Note: The "elect" are Christ's
"chosen"; Gentile or Israel believers in the Messiah, Who
returns to gather His “elect”
before the "Day of the Lord" & His wrath during the 7th seal.
At this time, the “elect” are NOT Jews return to Israel,
nor the faithful 144,000 of Israel protected by a seal of protection; from the wrath about to be unleashed Rev. 7:3-4.

Mth.
24:29 Immediately after the tribulation (* “Peirasmos”
i.e. trials)
of those days,
shall the sun
be darkened and the moon give no light, and the stars fall from heaven.
Concurrently
described by John in Revelation 6:12-17 as the 6 th seal:
The 6th seal
also signals the end of the “Great Tribulation”: Immediately
after the tribulation of those days then shall the sun be darkened and the moon give no
light, and the stars fall from heaven.
The 6th seal was also prophesied to come
"before" the "Day of the Lord" & His Wrath (* “Ebrah”)
at the 7th seal. (“Ebrah”; the overflowing
fury of God”)

Mth.24:30-31 Then
shall the Son of man come (parousia) …
“…with a great sound of a trumpet of God .”
& gather the “elect” / "chosen" (Pre Wrath Raptured)
Zec. 9:14-16: And the LORD shall be seen over them, and his arrow shall go forth as the lightning:
and the Lord GOD shall blow the trumpet, and shall go with whirlwinds of the south… And the LORD their God
shall save them in that day as the flock of his people.
"For the Lord himself will
descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the shofar (trumpet of God); and the
dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet
the Lord in the air and thus we shall always be with the Lord.” 1Thessalonians 4:16-18

Note:
“Ebrah” / “Orges” aka. “Wrath”
/ “over flowing fury”
Vs.
“Peirasmos”
aka “Trials / Testing / Tribulation”
Wrath translated from Hebrew word “Ebrah” (Orges in Greek);
Strong’s #5678 connotes the “overflowing fury of God”;
and is only used in conjunction with "Day of the Lord" wrath after the 7 th seal is broken, and the scroll
of God’s wrath is opened.
In contrast to “Peirasmos”: I.e. temptation / tribulation /
testing to deny Christ as Lord & God of your life.
Reference:
Rev.3:10 "Because you have
kept My command to persevere (endure) I will keep you from the hour of temptation / * “Peirasmos”; i.e.
thru Revelation Seals #1 thru #6.
2 Peter 2: 9: “The Lord knows how to deliver (ruesthai) the godly out
of / from (ek) temptations (peirasmos) …”.
The Expository Dictionary of Biblical Words by W.E. Vine combined commentary on Rev. 3:10-12 and 2 Peter 2:9:
The verb is used of testing
as permitted by God, and of the believer as one who should be in the realization of his own helplessness and his dependence
upon God.
The
noun is used of trials with beneficial purposes and effect, also of trials or temptations Divinely permitted or sent:
I.e. Rev. 3:10 “trial or “temptation”, and in ” 2 Peter 2:9 “to prove”
or “to try”.
See "Tribulation to Rapture to Wrath" hermeneutics file link for expanded details
Jesus “Comes” (Parousia) only Once:
AFTER “Tribulation” (seals 1 –6), and BEFORE “wrath” (7th seal).
To gather His “elect” / "chosen"; Mth. 24:30-31 (raptured); as He Himself clearly states, and
as reiterated by John in Rev 6 seals #1 thru #6.
Jesus then breaks the 7th seal; thus opening the
scroll releasing His “wrath” (Ebrah;
not Peirasmos) upon the unrepentant, left after the rapture. Rev. 8 –16.
This “wrath” is described inside the scroll,
once the 7th seal has been broken, as
the 7 trumpets and 7 bowls of “God’s wrath” Rev. 8 –16, and continues until the Feast of Atonement
aka. Judgment.
Jesus comes and stays to deliver wrath upon the unrepentant;
then holds
the marriage supper (Jubilee / Millennial Kingdom):
“… I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne
a scroll written inside and on the back, sealed with seven seals… Behold, the Lion
of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll
and to loose its seven seals." …. And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take
the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood …”
Rev. 5:1,5,9
“He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His
name is called The Word of God…. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath
of Almighty God…. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS….
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the birds that fly in the midst
of heaven, "Come and gather together for the supper of the great God”
Rev. 19:13, 15-17
Jesus
then continues to stay, and to rule in His Millennial Kingdom 1,000 years in a "Year of Jubilee".
The period of “Tribulation”, and then Jesus’ “coming” / parousia described in Mathew
24:5 – 31 is also concurrently described by John in Revelation chapter 6 - 7. God’s / Jesus
“wrath” is then 8-16 is then poured out in Judgment upon the unrepentant.
Note: The period of “Tribulation” (Peirasmos)
during the first 6 seals were allowed by God through His permissive will to cause repentance; before His “wrath”
and Judgment upon the unrepentant. I.e. typical of warnings given by God in scripture to repent, before
God unleashes His “over flowing fury” / wrath.
========================================================
Christians
are clearly martyred starting at the “Abomination of Desolation” as
noted by both Jesus at Mth. 24:9-21, and by John at Rev. 6:9-11 upon opening the 5 th seal; over 3.5 years into the 7-year
tribulational period. Christians are therefore ALSO subject to the first 4 seals of false beliefs,
wars, famine and pestilence.
The only exceptions are those who deny Christ as Lord
& God of their life.
Consequently, the need arises to prepare the church for a time of temptation / tribulation / testing (“Peirasmos”)
to deny Christ as Lord & God of your life.
I.e. Rev.3:10 "I will keep you from the hour of temptation / “Peirasmos”; by the power of His coming
and staying presence (Parousia) gift of His Spirit (at His 1st
coming) for those who trust in Him alone.
See “End Of The Age and Signs Of Jesus Coming” and
“Feasts Prophetic Hermeneutics”
According to Jesus in Matthew 24 and by
John in Revelation 6 & 7 for complete presentation.
===============================================================
In contrast to Pretribulational rapture
Eschatology, which takes the position of
3 Separate Comings:
One coming
for the rapture of the “elect” / saints at the beginning of the 7-year period.
Second coming to gather the “elect” (per Mth. 24:31) of Israel
after the “Great Tribulation” (initiated by the “Abomination of Desolation” (Mth.24:15)
Then finally His coming return in glory at the end
of the 7 year period.
This contradicts what Jesus said
in Mth. 24: 5-31 and Rev. 6 & 7 -
Disarming the people into a false sense of security …
as in the days of Noah!
"But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man
be. "For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day
that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son
of Man be. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.” Mth. 24:37-39
Christians will be subject to “Tribulation”
prior to God’s “wrath” as Jesus & John described in the
first 4 seals of false beliefs, wars, famine and pestilence, then the “Abomination of Desolation”, plus the 5TH
seal “Great Tribulation” until the 6th seal announcing the coming return of Jesus ... as He Himself
clearly stated in Mathew 24:5-31; and reiterated by John in Revelation chapter 6 & 7; and as prophesied by Joel, Isaiah,
and others.
Thus a ‘Nehemiah’ spiritual wall of protection needs to be built NOW.
Thou shalt arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favor her, yea the set time, is come ... Psm. 102: 13-16.
