“The DAY OF THE
LORD”
According
to ISAIAH
(New King
James Version)
Is. 1:2 “Hear, O heavens, and give ear,
O earth:
For the LORD has spoken:”
Is.
1:11-12,16-17 “To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? says the LORD:
I am full of the burnt offerings of rams … 12When ye come to appear
before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? 13Bring no more vain oblations
… 16Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings
from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; 17Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed,
judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.”
Is. 1:18-20 “Come
now, and let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they
be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the
good of the land: 20But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the
mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. 21How is the faithful city has become an harlot! full of judgment.”
Is. 2:2-4,11-12,19 “And it shall come to pass in the last days, that
the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills;
and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 ”And many
people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will
teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from
Jerusalem. 4 ”And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke
many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift
up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more …. 11The
lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in
that day. 12For the (Day of the LORD) of hosts shall be upon every
one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up; and he shall be brought low: …. 19And
they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his
majesty, when he arises to shake terribly the earth.”
Isaiah
4
1 “And in that day (Day of the LORD) seven women shall
take hold of one man, saying, ‘We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name,
to take away our reproach.’ 2In that day (Day of the LORD)
shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them
that are escaped of Israel. 3And it shall come to pass, that he who is left in Zion, and
he that remains in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem: 4When
the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the
midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning. 5And the LORD will
create upon every dwelling place of mount Zion, and upon her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming
fire by night: for upon all the glory shall be a defense. 6And there shall be a tabernacle
for a shadow in the day time from the heat, and for a place of refuge, and for a covert from storm and from rain.”
Is. 5:20 20 “Woe unto them that call evil good, and
good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
Is. 9:16 16 ”For the leaders of this people cause them
to err; and they that are led of them are destroyed. 17Therefore the LORD shall have no
joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows: for everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer,
and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.”
Is. 10:17 17 ”And the light of Israel shall be for
a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;”
Is. 10:20 20 “And it shall come to pass in
that day (Day of the LORD), that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house
of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
21The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God. 22For
though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow
with righteousness.”
Is. 11:11 11 “And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord
shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left …. 12And
he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of
Judah from the four corners of the earth.”
Isaiah
12
1 “And in that day (Day of the LORD)
you shall say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comforted me.
2Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my
strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. 3Therefore with joy shall ye draw
water out of the wells of salvation. 4And in that day (Day of
the LORD) shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention
that his name is exalted. 5Sing unto the LORD; for he has done excellent things: this is
known in all the earth. 6Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy
One of Israel in the midst of thee.”
Is. 13:6 “Wail, for the Day
of the LORD is at hand! It will come as destruction from the Almighty…. 9
Behold, the Day of the LORD comes, Cruel, with both wrath and fierce anger, To lay the land desolate; And He will destroy its sinners from it.
10
For the stars of heaven and their constellations will not give their light; the sun will be darkened in its going forth, and
the moon will not cause its light to shine.
11 “ I will punish the world for its evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; I will
halt the arrogance of the proud, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible. 12
I will make a mortal more rare than fine gold, a man more than the golden wedge of Ophir. 13 Therefore
I will shake the heavens, And the earth will move out of her place, In the wrath of the LORD of hosts And in the day of His
fierce anger. 14 It shall be as the hunted gazelle, and as a sheep that no man takes up;
Every man will turn to his own people, And everyone will flee to his own land. 15 Everyone who
is found will be thrust through, And everyone who is captured will fall by the sword. 16 Their
children also will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; Their houses will be plundered And their wives ravished.”
Is. 14:1 “For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will still choose Israel, and settle them in
their own land. The strangers will be joined with them, and they will cling to the house of Jacob. 2
Then people will take them and bring them to their place, and the house of Israel will possess them for servants and maids
in the land of the LORD; they will take them captive whose captives they were, and rule over their oppressors.”
Isaiah 24
1 “Behold, the LORD makes the earth empty, and makes it waste, and turns it upside down, and scatters abroad
the inhabitants thereof.
2And it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with his
master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower;
as with the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. 3The land shall be utterly
emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken this word. 4The earth mourns and
fads away, the world languishes and fads away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. 5The
earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken
the everlasting covenant. 6Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell
therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. 7The
new wine mourns, the vine languishes, all the merry-hearted do sigh. 8The mirth of tabrets
cease, the noise of them that rejoice ends, the joy of the harp cease. 9They shall not drink
wine with a song; strong drink shall be bitter to them that drink it. 10The city of confusion
is broken down: every house is shut up, that no man may come in. 11There is a crying for
wine in the streets; all joy is darkened, the mirth of the land is gone. 12In the city is
left desolation, and the gate is smitten with destruction. 13When thus it shall be in the
midst of the land among the people, there shall be as the shaking of an olive tree, and as the gleaning grapes when the vintage
is done. 14They shall lift up their voices, they shall sing for the majesty of the LORD,
they shall cry aloud from the sea. 15Wherefore glorify ye the LORD in the fires, even the
name of the LORD God of Israel in the isles of the sea. 16From the uttermost part of the
earth have we heard songs, even glory to the righteous. But I said, My leanness, my leanness, woe unto me! the treacherous
dealers have dealt treacherously; yea, the treacherous dealers have dealt very treacherously. 17Fear,
and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. 18And it shall come
to pass, that he who fleas from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that comes up out of the midst of the
pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake. 19The
earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved; the earth is moved exceedingly. 20The
earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy
upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again. 21And it shall come to pass in that
day (Day of the LORD), that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high,
and the kings of the earth upon the earth. 22And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners
are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.”
23
“Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem,
and before his ancients gloriously.”
Take Refuge from the Coming
Judgment
Is. 26:20 “Come, my people,
enter your chambers, And shut your doors behind you; Hide yourself, as it were, for a little moment, Until the indignation
is past. 21 For behold, the LORD comes out of His place To punish the inhabitants of the earth for
their iniquity; The earth will also disclose her blood, And will no more cover her slain.”
Is. 27:1 “In that day (Day
of the LORD) the LORD with His severe sword, great and strong, Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent
…”
Is. 27:12-13
“And it shall
come to pass in that day (Day of the LORD) that the LORD will thresh, From
the channel of the River to the Brook of Egypt; And you will be gathered one by one, O you children of Israel. 13
So it shall be in that day (Day of the LORD): The great trumpet will be blown;
They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria, And they who are outcasts in the land of Egypt, And
shall worship the LORD in the holy mount at Jerusalem.“
Is. 28:5-6 “In that day (Day of the LORD) the
LORD of hosts will be for a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the remnant of His people, for a spirit of justice to
him who sits in judgment, and for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.“
Is. 28:10-12
10 “For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, Line upon line,
line upon line, Here a little, there a little.” 11 For with stammering lips and another
tongue He will speak to this people, 12 To whom He said, “This is the rest with
which You may cause the weary to rest,” And, ‘This is the refreshing’; Yet they would not
hear.“
Is. 29:5-19 5 ….“Yes,
it shall be in an instant, suddenly. 6 You will be punished by the LORD of hosts With thunder
and earthquake and great noise, With storm and tempest And the flame of devouring fire. 7
The multitude of all the nations who fight against Ariel, Even all who fight against her and her fortress, and distress her,
Shall be as a dream of a night vision…. So the multitude of all the nations shall be, Who fight against
Mount Zion.” ……
13 Therefore the Lord said: “Inasmuch
as these people draw near with their mouths and honor Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And
their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men,
Is. 30:1 “ ‘Woe to
the rebellious children,’ says the LORD, ‘Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but
not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin’; ….
15 For thus
says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: ‘In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall
be your strength.’ But you would not …. 21
Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ Whenever
you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.”
Is.
30:26-31 26 “Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the
sun, And the light of the sun will be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, In the day that the LORD binds up the
bruise of His people and heals the stroke of their wound. “Behold, the name of the LORD comes from afar, Burning
with His anger, and His burden is heavy; His lips are full of indignation, and His tongue like
a devouring fire. His breath is like a overflowing stream, which reaches up to the neck, To sift the nations with the sieve
of futility; and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, Causing them to err….. With
the indignation of His anger and the flame of a devouring fire, With scattering, tempest, and hailstones.”
Isaiah 32 A Reign of Righteousness
1-6 “Behold, a king will reign in righteousness, and princes will rule with justice.
2 A man will be as a hiding place from the wind, and a cover from the tempest, As rivers
of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land. 3 The
eyes of those who see will not be dim, and the ears of those who hear will listen. 4
Also the heart of the rash will understand knowledge, And the tongue of the stammerers will be ready to speak plainly. 5
The foolish person will no longer be called generous, nor the miser said to be bountiful; 6
For the foolish person will speak foolishness, and his heart will work iniquity: To practice ungodliness, to utter error against
the LORD, To keep the hungry unsatisfied, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail…... 17 The work of righteousness will be peace,
And the effect of righteousness, quietness and assurance forever.
Is.
33:6 6 “Wisdom And knowledge will be the stability of your times, and
the strength of salvation; The fear of the LORD is His treasure.”
Isaiah 34 Judgment on the Nations
1
“Come near, you nations, to hear; and heed, you people!
Let
the earth hear, and all that is in it , the world and all things that come forth from it.
2
For the indignation of
the LORD is against all
nations, and His fury against all their armies; He has utterly destroyed them, He has
given them over to the slaughter.
3 Also their slain shall be thrown
out; Their stench shall rise from their corpses,
And the mountains shall be melted
with their blood.
4 All the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the
heavens shall be rolled up like a scroll; All their host shall fall down as the leaf falls from the vine, and as fruit
falling from a fig tree.
5 “ For My sword shall be bathed in heaven;
Indeed it shall come down on Edom,
And on the people of My curse, for judgment.
6
The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, ….
8 For
it is the Day of the LORD’s vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion.
9 Its streams shall be turned into pitch, and its dust into brimstone;
its land shall become burning pitch.
10 It shall not be quenched night or day; Its
smoke shall ascend forever.
From generation to generation it shall lie waste; No one shall pass through it forever
and ever.”
Isaiah 35
The
Future Glory of Zion
1 The wilderness and the wasteland
shall be glad for them,
And the desert shall rejoice and blossom as the rose;
2
It shall blossom abundantly and rejoice, even with joy and singing.
The glory of Lebanon shall
be given to it, the excellence of Carmel and Sharon.
They shall see the glory of the LORD,
the excellence of our God.
3 Strengthen the weak hands, and make firm
the feeble knees.
4 Say to those who are fearful-hearted, “Be
strong, do not fear!
Behold,
your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God; He will come and save you.” 5
Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
6 Then the lame shall
leap like a deer, and the tongue of the dumb sing.
For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness,
and streams in the desert.
7 The parched ground shall become a pool,
and the thirsty land springs of water;
In the habitation of jackals, where each lay, there
shall be grass with reeds and rushes.
8 A highway shall be there, and a road, and it shall
be called the Highway of Holiness. The unclean shall not pass over it, but it shall be for others.
Whoever walks the road, although a fool,
shall not go astray.
9 No lion shall be there, nor shall any
ravenous beast go up on it; it shall not be found there. But the redeemed shall walk there,
10
And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with singing, with everlasting joy on their heads. They shall
obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Is.
48:10 10 Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the
furnace of affliction .…. 16 “ Come near to Me, hear this: I have
not spoken in secret from the beginning…..
17 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy
One of Israel: “ I am the LORD your God, Who teaches you to profit, Who leads you by the way you should go.
18 Oh, that you had heeded my commandments! then your peace would have been like a river,
and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
Is. 58:11
The LORD will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, And strengthen
your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
Isaiah 55 An Invitation to Abundant Life
1
“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2
Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully
to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance.
3 Incline your ear,
and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live;
And I will make an everlasting
covenant with you — The sure mercies of David. 4 Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, a leader and commander
for the people. 5 Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, and nations
who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the LORD your God, and the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified
you.”
6 Seek the LORD while He may be found, call upon Him while
He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man
his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are
your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “For as the
heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10
“ For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, But water the earth, and make it bring
forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
11 So shall My
word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and it
shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. 12 “ For you shall go out with
joy, and be led out with peace; The mountains and the hills shall break forth into singing before you, And all the trees of
the field shall clap their hands.
13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress
tree, And instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign
that shall not be cut off.”
Is. 56:7-8 Even them I will
bring to My holy mountain, and make them joyful in My house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will
be accepted on My altar; For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
8
The Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, says, “Yet I will gather to him Others besides those who
are gathered to him.”
Israel’s Irresponsible Leaders
9 All you beasts of the field, come to devour, All you
beasts in the forest.
10 His watchmen are blind, They are all ignorant; They are
all dumb dogs, They cannot bark; Sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber.
11 Yes, they
are greedy dogs which never have enough. And they are shepherds who cannot understand; They all look
to their own way, Every one for his own gain, from his own territory. 12 “ Come,”
one says, “I will bring wine, and we will fill ourselves with intoxicating drink; Tomorrow will be as today,
and much more abundant.” Is. 57:1 1 The righteous perishes,
and no man takes it to heart;
Merciful men are taken away, while no one considers That the righteous
is taken away from evil …. 15 For thus says the High and Lofty
One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “ I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who
has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Is.
58:1 “Cry
aloud, spare not; Lift up your voice like a trumpet; Tell My people their transgression, and the house
of Jacob their sins.
Is. 60:19-22 19
“ The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the LORD will
be to you an everlasting light, and your God your glory.
20 Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw
itself; For the LORD will be your everlasting light, and the days of your mourning shall be ended.
21
Also your people shall all be righteous; They shall inherit the land forever, The branch of My planting,
the work of My hands, that I may be glorified.
22 A little one shall become a thousand,
and a small one a strong nation. I, the LORD, will hasten it in its time.”
Is. 61:1-4
The Good
News of Salvation
1 “ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD
has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
2 To
proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort
all who mourn,
3 To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for
ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness,
the planting of the LORD, that He may be Glorified.”
4 And they shall
rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations
of many generations.
Is. 61:5-7
Is. 61:8-10
8 “ For I, the LORD, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will
direct their work in truth, and will make with them an everlasting covenant.
9
Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge
them, That they are the posterity whom the LORD has blessed.” 0 I will
greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has
covered me with the robe of righteousness, As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself
with her jewels
Is. 63:3-4 3 “I
have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with Me. For I have trodden them in My anger, and
trampled them in My fury; Their blood is sprinkled upon My garments, and I have stained all My robes.
4 For the day of vengeance is in My heart, and the year of My redeemed has come.
Is. 64:4-6 4
For since the beginning
of the world Men have not heard nor Perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts
for the one who waits for Him.
5 You meet him who rejoices and does righteousness, Who
remembers You in Your ways. You are indeed angry, for we have sinned— In these ways we continue; and we need to be saved.
6 But we are all like an unclean thing, and all our righteousness
are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Is. 65:12 Therefore I will number you for the sword, and you shall all bow down
to the slaughter; Because, when I called, you did not answer; When I spoke, you did not hear, But did evil before
My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight.” ….. 17
“ For behold, I
create new heavens and a new earth; And the former shall not be remembered or come to mind.
Is. 66:1-4,
16, 22-24
1 Thus says the LORD: “Heaven
is My throne, and earth is My footstool. Where is the house that you will build Me? And
where is the place of My rest?
2 For all
those things My hand has made, and all those things exist,” Says the LORD.
“But on this one will I look: On him who is poor and of a contrite spirit, and who trembles at My
word.
3 “He who kills a bull is as if
he slays a man; He who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog’s neck; He who offers a grain offering, as
if he offers swine’s blood; He who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol. Just as they have chosen their
own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations,
4 So will I choose their delusions, and bring
their fears on them; Because, when I called, no one answered, When I spoke they did not hear; But they did evil before
My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight.” ….. 16 For
by fire and by His sword the LORD will judge all flesh; And the slain of the LORD shall be many …..
22
“For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the
LORD, “So shall your descendants and your name remain.
23 And
it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, All flesh shall come to
worship before Me,” says the LORD.
24 “And they shall go
forth and look upon the corpses of the men who have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, and their fire is
not quenched. They shall be abhorrence to all flesh.”
According
to JEREMIAH
Jer.3:17-18 “At that time Jerusalem shall be
called The Throne of the LORD, and all the nations shall be gathered to it, to the name of the LORD, to Jerusalem. No
a
more shall they follow
the dictates of their evil hearts.
18 “In those days the house of Judah shall
walk with the house of Israel, and they shall come together out of the land of the north to the land that I have given as
an inheritance to your fathers.
Jer.4:5-6
An Imminent
Invasion
5 Declare in Judah and proclaim in Jerusalem, and say: “ Blow the trumpet in the land; Cry, ‘Gather together,’
and say, ‘Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the fortified cities.’ 6 Set up the
standard toward Zion. Take refuge! Do not delay! For I will bring disaster from the north, and great
destruction.”Jer.4:19b “… I cannot hold
my peace, because you have heard, O my soul, The sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
Jer.4:23
& 27 23 “I beheld the earth, and indeed it was without form,
and void; And the heavens, they had no light. ….. 27
For thus says the LORD: “The whole land shall be desolate; Yet I will not make full end.”
Jer.6:10-11 10 “To whom
shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Indeed their ear is uncircumcised, and they cannot give heed.
Behold, the word of the LORD is a reproach to them; They have no delight in it. 11 Therefore I am
full of the fury of the LORD. I am weary of holding it in.”
Jer.6:16-17 16 Thus says the LORD: “
Stand in the ways and see, And ask for the old paths, where the good way is, And walk in it; Then you will find rest
for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’ 17 Also, I set watchmen
over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We
will not listen.’
Jer.7:32-34 32
“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “when it will no more be called Tophet, or the Valley
of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter; for they will bury in Tophet until there is no room. 33
The corpses of this people will be food for the birds of the heaven and for the beasts of the earth. And no one will frighten
them away. 34 Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets
of Jerusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride. For the
land shall be desolate.
Jer.9:23-24 23 Thus says
the LORD: “Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor
let the rich man glory in his riches;
24 But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the
earth. For in these I delight,” says the LORD.
Jer.10:23-24 23
O LORD, I know the way of man is not in himself; It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. 24
O LORD, correct me, but with justice;
Not in Your anger, lest You bring me to nothing. Jer.12:15-17
15 Then it shall be, after I have plucked them out, that I will return and have compassion
on them and bring them back, everyone to his heritage and everyone to his land. 16 And it shall
be, if they will learn carefully the ways of My people, to swear by My name, ‘As the LORD lives,’ as they taught
My people to swear by Baal, then they shall be established in the midst of My people. 17 But if
they do not obey, I will utterly pluck up and destroy that nation,” says the LORD.
Jer.17:9-10,22-24
9. “ The heart is deceitful above all things, And desperately wicked;
Who can know it? 10 I, the LORD, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give every
man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doings. ….. 22 nor carry a burden
out of your houses on the Sabbath day, nor do any work, but hallow the Sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers. 23
But they did not obey nor incline their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear nor receive instruction.
24 “And it shall be, if you heed Me carefully,” says the LORD, “to bring no
burden through the gates of this city on the Sabbath day, but hallow the Sabbath day, to do no work in it,
Jer.18:12 12 And they said, “That is hopeless! So we will
walk according to our own plans, and we will every one obey the dictates of his evil heart.”
Jer.23:3,6 3 “But I will gather the remnant of My flock out of
all countries where I have driven them, and bring them back to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase …
6 In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name
by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Jer.24:6,9
6 For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them back to this land; I will
build them and not pull them down, and I will plant them and not pluck them up … 9
I will deliver them to trouble into all the kingdoms of the earth, for their harm, to be a reproach and
a byword, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I shall drive them.
Jer.25:15,29,33 15 For thus
says the LORD God of Israel to me: “Take this wine cup of fury from My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send
you, to drink it. ….. 29 For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called
by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants
of the earth,” says the LORD of hosts.’ ….. 33 “And at that day the slain
of the LORD shall be from one end of the earth even to the other end of the earth. They shall not be lamented,
or gathered, or buried; they shall become refuse on the ground.
Jer.30:3,7,11,24
3 For behold, the days are coming,’ says the LORD, ‘that I will bring back
from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the LORD. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I
gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.’ … 7 Alas! For
that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, But he
shall be saved out of it. … 11 For I am with you,’ says the LORD, ‘to
save you; Though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, Yet I will not make a complete end of you. But
I will correct you in justice, And will not let you go altogether unpunished.’ … 24
The fierce anger of the LORD will not return until He has done it, and until He has performed the intents of His heart.
In the latter days you will consider it.
Jer.31:31-34,38a, 40b 31
“Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house
of Judah— 32 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that
I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,[a] says the LORD. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of
Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their
God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man
his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them,
says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more. ….. 38a
“Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, that the city shall be built for the LORD …. 40b
It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.”
Jer.32-37-40
37 Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger,
in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back to this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely. 38
They shall be My people, and I will be their God; 39 then I will give them one heart and one way,
that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. 40 And I will
make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts
so that they will not depart from Me.
Jer.49:38-39 38
I will set My throne in Elam, And will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the LORD. 39
‘ But it shall come to pass in the latter days:
I will bring back the captives of Elam,’ says the LORD.”
Jer.50:41,46 41 “ Behold, a people shall come from the
north, And a great nation and many kings. Shall be raised up from the ends of the earth. … 46
At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth trembles, and the cry is heard among the nations.
Jer.51:6-7,33,48-49
6 Flee from the midst of Babylon, And every one save his life! Do not be cut off in her
iniquity, For this is
the time of the LORD’s vengeance;
He shall recompense her. 7 Babylon was a golden cup in the LORD’s
hand, That made all the earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; Therefore the nations are deranged. … 33
For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: “ The daughter of Babylon is like a threshing floor When
it is time to thresh her; Yet a little while
And the time of her harvest will come.” … 48
Then the heavens and the earth and all that is in them Shall sing joyously over Babylon; For the plunderers shall
come to her from the north,” says the LORD. 49 As Babylon has caused the slain
of Israel to fall, So at Babylon the slain of all the earth shall fall.
According
to EZEKIEL
Ezek.3:17-19 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of
Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me: 18 When I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him
no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, that same wicked man shall die in
his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 19 Yet, if you warn the wicked, and he
does not turn from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul.
Ezek.7:2-3,14-15 2 “And you, son of man, thus says the Lord GOD
to the land of Israel: ‘ An end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land. 3 Now
the end has come upon you, And I will send My anger against you; I will judge you according to your ways, And I will
repay you for all your abominations. ….. 14 ‘ They have blown the trumpet and made everyone ready, But no one goes to battle; For My wrath is
on all their multitude. 15 The sword is outside, And the pestilence and famine within.
Whoever is in the field Will die by the sword; And whoever is in the city, Famine and pestilence will devour
him.
Ezek.11:17,23 17
Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where
you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”’ ….. 23 And the
glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city and stood on the mountain, which is on the east side of the
city.
Ezek.20:12,20,33-34,41 12
Moreover I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the LORD
who sanctifies them. ….. 20 hallow My Sabbaths, and they will be a sign between Me and you,
that you may know that I am the LORD your God.’ ….. 33 “As I
live,” says the Lord GOD, “surely with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out, I will
rule over you. 34 I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where
you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out. ….. 41
I will accept you as a sweet aroma when I bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you have
been scattered; and I will be hallowed in you before the Gentiles.”
Ezek.22:30-31
30 “So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap
before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. 31 Therefore
I have poured out My indignation on them; I have consumed them with the fire of My wrath; and I have recompensed their deeds
on their own heads,” says the Lord GOD.
Ezek.28:25 25
‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered,
and am hallowed in them in the sight of the Gentiles, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob.
Ezek.30:3 3 For the day is near, Even the Day
of the LORD is near; It will be a day of clouds, the time of the Gentiles.
Ezek.32:7
3 For the day is near, Even the Day of the LORD is near;
It will be a day of clouds, the time of the Gentiles.
Note: Joel 2:10, Rev. 6:13b, and Matt.24:29
Ezek.33:4-16,31-33
4 then whoever hears the sound
of the trumpet and does not take warning, if the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be on his own
head. 5 He heard the sound of the trumpet, but did not take warning; his blood
shall be upon himself. But he who takes warning will save his life. 6 But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not
blow the trumpet, and the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any person from among them, he is
taken away in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.’
7 “So you, son of man: I have made you a watchman for the house
of Israel; therefore you shall hear a word from My mouth and warn them for Me. 8 When I say to
the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way,
that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. 9
Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity;
but you have delivered your soul.
10 “Therefore you, O son of man, say to the house
of Israel: ‘Thus you say, “If our transgressions and our sins lie upon us, and we pine away in them,
how can we then live?”’ 11 Say to them: ‘As I live,’ says the
Lord GOD, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn
from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’ ….. 31 So they come
to you as people do, they sit before you as My people, and they hear your words, but they do not do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their hearts pursue their own gain.
32 Indeed you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice and can play
well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they do not do them. 33 And when this comes to
pass—surely it will come—then they will know that a prophet has been among them.”
Ezek.34:13,23 13
And I will bring them out from the peoples and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land; I will
feed them on the mountains of Israel, in the valleys and in all the inhabited places of the country ….. 23
I will establish one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them—My servant David. He shall feed them and be their shepherd.”
Ezek.36:8-34
8 But you, O mountains of
Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come. 9
For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. 10
I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.
11 I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make
you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am
the LORD. 12 Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, My people Israel; they shall take possession
of you, and you shall be their inheritance; no more shall you bereave them of children.”
13
‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Because they say to you, ‘You devour men and bereave your nation of children,’
14 therefore you shall devour men no more, nor bereave your nation anymore,” says the Lord
GOD. 15 “Nor will I let you hear the taunts of the nations anymore, nor bear the reproach
of the peoples anymore, nor shall you cause your nation to stumble anymore,” says the Lord GOD.’”
The Renewal of Israel
16 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying: 17
“Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own ways and deeds; to Me their
way was like the uncleanness of a woman in her customary impurity. 18 Therefore I poured out My
fury on them for the blood they had shed on the land, and for their idols with which they had defiled it. 19 So I scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed
throughout the countries; I judged them according to their ways and their deeds. 20 When they came
to the nations, wherever they went, they profaned My holy name—when they said of them, ‘These are the
people of the LORD, and yet they have gone out of His land.’ 21 But I had concern for
My holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the nations wherever they went.
22
“Therefore say to the house of Israel, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I do not do this for your sake,
O house of Israel, but for My holy name’s sake, which you have profaned among the nations wherever you went. 23
And I will sanctify My great name, which has been profaned among the nations, which you have profaned in their midst; and
the nations shall know that I am the LORD,” says the Lord GOD, “when I am hallowed in you before their
eyes. 24 For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you
into your own land.
25 Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all
your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within
you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will
put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them. 28
Then you shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; you shall be My people, and I will be your God. 29
I will deliver you from all your uncleanness. I will call for the grain and multiply it, and bring no famine upon you. 30
And I will multiply the fruit of your trees and the increase of your fields, so that you need never again bear the reproach
of famine among the nations. 31 Then you will remember your evil ways and your deeds that were
not good; and you will loathe yourselves in your own sight, for your iniquities and your abominations. 32
Not for your sake do I do this,” says the Lord GOD, “let it be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded
for your own ways, O house of Israel!”
33 ‘Thus says the Lord
GOD: “On the day that I cleanse you from all your iniquities, I will also enable you to dwell in the cities,
and the ruins shall be rebuilt. 34 The desolate land shall be tilled instead of lying desolate
in the sight of all who pass by.
Ezek.37 The Dry Bones Live
1
The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley;
and it was full of bones. 2 Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold,
there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. 3 And
He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.”
4
Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! 5
Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. 6
I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you
shall know that I am the LORD.”’”
7 So I prophesied as I was
commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. 8
Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath
in them.
9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and
say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that
they may live.”’” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into
them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
11 Then He
said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They indeed say, ‘Our bones are dry, our hope
is lost, and we ourselves are cut off!’ 12 Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus
says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring
you into the land of Israel. 13 Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened
your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves. 14 I will put My Spirit
in you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I, the LORD, have spoken it
and performed it,” says the LORD.’”
One Kingdom,
One King
15 Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 16
“As for you, son of man, take a stick for yourself and write on it: ‘For Judah and for the children of Israel,
his companions.’ Then take another stick and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for
all the house of Israel, his companions.’ 17 Then join them one to another for yourself
into one stick, and they will become one in your hand.
18 “And when the children
of your people speak to you, saying, ‘Will you not show us what you mean by these?’— 19
say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Surely I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the
hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel, his companions; and I will join them with it, with the stick of Judah, and make
them one stick, and they will be one in My hand.”’ 20 And the sticks on which
you write will be in your hand before their eyes.
21
“Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will
gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; 22 and I will make them one nation
in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two
kingdoms again. 23 They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable
things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned,
and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.
24 “David My servant shall be king over them, and they shall all have one shepherd; they shall
also walk in My judgments and observe My statutes, and do them. 25 Then they shall dwell in the land that I have given to Jacob My servant, where
your fathers dwelt; and they shall dwell there, they, their children, and their children’s children, forever; and
My servant David shall be their prince forever. 26 Moreover I will make a covenant of peace
with them, and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them; I will establish them and multiply them, and I will
set My sanctuary in their midst forevermore. 27 My tabernacle also shall be with them; indeed
I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 28 The nations also will know that I, the LORD,
sanctify Israel, when My sanctuary is in their midst forevermore.”
Ezek.38:8-9,15-23
8 After many days you will be visited. In the
latter years you will come into the land of those brought back from the sword and gathered from many people on the
mountains of Israel, which had long been desolate; they were brought out of the nations, and now all of them dwell safely. 9 You will ascend,
coming like a storm, covering the land like a cloud, you and all your troops and many people’s with you. …..
15
Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great
company and a mighty army. 16 You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover
the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when
I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.” 17 Thus says the Lord GOD: “Are
you he of whom I have spoken in former days by My servants the prophets of Israel, who prophesied for years in those
days that I would bring you against them?
Judgment on Gog
18 “And
it will come to pass at the same time, when Gog comes against the land of Israel,” says the Lord GOD, “that
My fury will show in My face. 19 For in My jealousy and in the fire of My wrath I
have spoken: ‘Surely in that day there shall be a great earthquake in the land of Israel, 20
so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the heavens, the beasts of the field, all creeping things that creep on the earth,
and all men who are on the face of the earth shall shake at My presence. The mountains shall be thrown down, the
steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.’ 21 I will call
for a sword against Gog throughout all My mountains,” says the Lord GOD. “Every man’s sword will be against
his brother. 22 And I will bring him to judgment with pestilence and bloodshed; I will rain
down on him, on his troops, and on the many peoples who are with him, flooding rain, great hailstones, fire, and
brimstone. 23 Thus I will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the
eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the LORD.”’
Ezek.39:6-14,21-22,29
“6 “And I will send fire on Magog and on those who live in security in the
coastlands. Then they shall know that I am the LORD. 7 So I will make My holy
name known in the midst of My people Israel, and I will not let them profane My holy name anymore. Then the nations
shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel. 8 Surely it is coming, and it shall
be done,” says the Lord GOD. “This is the day (Day of the LORD) of which I have spoken.
9 “Then those who dwell in the cities of Israel will go out and set
on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and bucklers, the bows and arrows, the javelins and spears; and they will make
fires with them for seven years. 10 They will not take wood from the field nor cut down any
from the forests, because they will make fires with the weapons; and they will plunder those who plundered them, and pillage
those who pillaged them,” says the Lord GOD.
The Burial of Gog
11
“It will come to pass in that day (Day of the LORD) that I will give Gog a burial place there in Israel, the valley of those who pass by east of the
sea; and it will obstruct travelers, because there they will bury Gog and all his multitude. Therefore they will call it
the Valley of Hamon Gog.[a] 12 For seven months the house of Israel will be burying them, in order to cleanse
the land. 13 Indeed all the people of the land will be burying, and they will gain
renown for it on the day that I am glorified,” says the Lord GOD. 14 “They will set
apart men regularly employed, with the help of a search party,[b] to pass through the land and bury those bodies remaining on the ground, in order to cleanse it. At the end of seven
months they will make a search.
Israel Restored to the Land
21 “I will set My glory among the nations;
all the nations shall see My judgment which I have executed, and My hand which I have laid on them. 22 So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD
their God from that day forward. … 29 And I will not hide My face from them anymore; for
I shall have poured out My Spirit on the house of Israel,’ says the Lord GOD.”
Ezek.46:1-2,17b 1 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “The gateway of the inner court that faces toward the east shall be shut the six working days; but on the Sabbath it shall be opened, and on the day of the New Moon it shall be opened. 2 The prince shall enter by way of the vestibule of the gateway from the outside, and stand by the gatepost. The priests shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings. He shall worship at the
threshold of the gate. Then he shall go out, but the gate shall not be shut until evening.
12
“Now when the prince makes a voluntary burnt offering or voluntary peace offering to the LORD, the gate that faces toward
the east shall then be opened for him; and he shall prepare his burnt offering and his peace offerings as he did on the Sabbath
day. Then he shall go out, and after he goes out the gate shall be shut. … 17b .. it
shall be his until the year of liberty, after which it shall return to the prince. But his inheritance shall
belong to his sons; it shall become theirs.”

8 I was considering
the horns, and there was another horn, a little one, coming up among them, before whom three of the first horns were
plucked out by the roots. And there, in this horn, were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking pompous
words.

Vision of the Ancient of Days
9 “I watched till thrones were put in place,
And the Ancient of Days was seated;
His garment was white as snow, And the hair of His head was
like pure wool.
His throne was a fiery flame, Its wheels a burning fire; 10 A
fiery streams issued
And came forth from before Him. A thousand thousands ministered to Him;
Ten
thousand times ten thousand stood before Him. The court of judgment was seated, And the books were opened. 11 “I watched then because of the sound of the pompous words
which the horn was speaking; I watched till the beast was slain, and its body destroyed and given to the burning flame. 12
As for the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away, yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.
13 “I was watching in the night visions,
And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought
Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom,
that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not
pass away, and His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed. 20 and
the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, before which three fell,
namely, that horn which had eyes and a mouth which spoke pompous words, whose appearance was greater than his
fellows.
21 “I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints,
and prevailing against them, 22 until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in
favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom.
23
“Thus he said: ‘The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, Which shall be different from all other
kingdoms, And shall devour the whole earth, Trample it and break it in pieces. 24 The ten horns are ten kings Who
shall arise from this kingdom. And another shall rise after them; He shall be different from the first
ones, And shall subdue three kings. 25 He shall speak pompous words
against the Most High, Shall persecute the saints of the Most High, And he shall intend to change times and law. Then the saints shall be given into
his hand for a time and times and half a time. 26 ‘But the court
shall be seated, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and destroy it forever. 27
Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the
saints of the Most High. His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.’
Dan.8:8-14,24-25
8 Therefore the male goat
grew very great; but when he became strong, the large horn was broken, and in place of it four notable ones came up toward
the four winds of heaven. 9 And out of one of them came a little horn which grew
exceedingly great toward the south, toward the east, and toward the Glorious Land. 10
And it grew up to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and some of the stars to the ground,
and trampled them. 11 He even exalted
himself as high as the Prince of the host; and by him the daily sacrifices were taken away, and the place
of His sanctuary was cast down. 12 Because of transgression, an army was given over to
the horn to oppose the daily sacrifices; and he cast truth down to the ground. He did all this and
prospered. 13 Then I heard a holy one speaking; and another holy one said to that certain
one who was speaking, “How long will the vision be, concerning the daily sacrifices
and the transgression of desolation, the giving of both the sanctuary and the host to be trampled underfoot?”
14
And he said to me, “For two thousand three hundred (2300) days;[a] then the sanctuary shall be cleansed.” ….. 24 His power shall
be mighty, but not by his own power; He shall destroy fearfully, And shall prosper and thrive;
He shall destroy
the mighty, and also the holy people. 25 “Through his cunning He shall cause deceit
to prosper under his rule; And he shall exalt himself in his heart.
He shall destroy many in their
prosperity. He shall even rise against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without human means.

DANIEL 9: 24-27 PROPHECY and END OF THE AGE – SIGNS OF JESUS' COMING
Dan.9:24-27
24 “ Seventy
sevens (70 7s) are determined
For your people (Israel) and for your holy city (Jerusalem), To finish
the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To
seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. 25 “ Know therefore and understand,
That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem until Messiah
the Prince, There shall be seven sevens and sixty-two sevens (69 7s); The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. 26
“And after the sixty-two sevens Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who
is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, and till the end of the
war desolations are determined. 27 Then He (GOD)
shall CONFIRM a covenant with many for one period of seven (1 period of 7; 70th 7); But in the middle of the seven He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall
be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.”
Dan.11:21,31 21 “And in his place
shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize
the kingdom by intrigue. … 31 And forces of arms shall be mustered by him, and they
shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there
the abomination of desolation.”
DANIEL 9: 24-27 PROPHECY and END OF THE AGE – SIGNS OF JESUS' COMING
Dan.12:1-4,6b,7b,8-12 Prophecy of the End Time
1 “At
that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there
shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that
time your people shall be delivered, everyone who is found written in the book. 2 And many of
those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt.
3 Those who are wise shall shine Like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many
to righteousness like the stars forever and ever.
4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the
words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” …..
6b “How long shall the fulfillment of these wonders be?
7b
”….. it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; and when the power of
the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished. (Also see Ezek.39:11-12, Rev.11:2-3; 12:6; 13:5; & 16:17-21)
8 Although I heard, I did not understand. Then
I said, “My lord, what shall be the end of these things?”
9
And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.
10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none
of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation
is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety (1290) days.
12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five (1335) days.”.

According to HOSEA
Hos.1:4-5
4 “Then the LORD said to him: ‘Call his name Jezreel, for in a little while I will
avenge the bloodshed of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and bring an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel. 5
It shall come to pass in that day that I will break the bow of Israel in the Valley of Jezreel.’ ”
Hos.9:10 “I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstfruits on the
fig tree in its first season. But they went to Baal Peor, and separated themselves to that shame; they became
an abomination like the thing they loved.
Hos.10:12 12
Sow for yourselves righteousness; reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground, for it is time to seek the LORD, ‘til
He comes and rains righteousness on you.
According
to JOEL
Joel 1:7,15 “He
has laid waste My vine, and ruined My fig tree. He has stripped it bare and thrown it away; its
branches are made white.”
15 Alas for the day! For the Day of the LORD
is at hand;
It shall come as destruction from the Almighty.
Joel 2:1-2,10,15,22,28-31
The Day
of the LORD
1 “Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the Day of the LORD is coming, for it is at hand:
2 A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
like the morning clouds spread over the mountains. A people come, great and strong, the
like of whom has never been; nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generations. …..
10 The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble; the sun and moon grow dark, and
the stars diminish their brightness. ….. 15 Blow the trumpet in Zion.
Consecrate a fast. Call a sacred assembly; …
22 Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field;
for the open pastures are springing up, and the tree bears its fruit; the fig tree and the vine yield their strength. …..
God’s Spirit Poured Out
28
“ And it shall come to pass afterward that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall
prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions. 29
And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. 30
“And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke.
31
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood,
before the coming of the great and awesome
Day of the LORD.
Joel
3:2,13-16,19-21 2 I will also gather all nations, and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; and I will enter into judgment with
them there on account of My people, My heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; they have also divided
up My land.
13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; for the winepress is full, the
vats overflow — for their wickedness is great. 14 Multitudes,
multitudes in the valley of decision! For the Day of the LORD is near
in the valley of decision.
15 The sun and moon will grow dark, and the stars will
diminish their brightness. 16 The LORD also will roar from Zion, and
utter His voice from Jerusalem; the heavens and earth will shake; but the LORD will be a shelter for His people, and the strength
of the children of Israel.
19 “Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom a desolate wilderness, because of violence against the
people of Judah, for they have shed innocent blood in their land. 20 But Judah
shall abide forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. 21 For I
will acquit them of the guilt of bloodshed, whom I had not acquitted; for the LORD dwells in Zion.”
According
to AMOS
Amos 5:18,20 18 “Woe to you who desire the Day of
the LORD! For what good is the Day of the LORD to you? It
will be darkness, and not light … 20 Is not the Day of the LORD darkness,
and not light? Is it not very dark, with no brightness in it?
Amos
8:9 9 “’And
it shall come to pass in that day Day of the LORD,’ says the Lord GOD, ‘that I will make
the sun go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in broad daylight;’”
Amos 9:5,9,11-15
5 “The Lord GOD of hosts,
He who touches the earth and it melts, and all who dwell there mourn; all of it shall swell like the River, and subside like
the River of Egypt. 9 For surely I will command, and will sift the house of
Israel among all nations, as grain is sifted in a sieve; yet not the smallest grain shall fall to the ground.
Israel Will Be Restored
11
“’On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise
up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; 12 That they may possess
the remnant of Edom, and all the Gentiles who are called by My name,’ says the LORD Who does this thing. 13
‘Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, ‘when the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader
of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it. 14
I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; they shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; they shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. 15
I will plant them in their land, and no longer shall they be pulled up from the land I have given them,’ says the LORD
your God.”
According
to MICAH
Micah
1:3 3 For
behold, the LORD is coming out of His place; He will come down and tread on the high places of the earth.
Micah
4:1-7 The LORD’s Reign in Zion
1 Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains,
and shall be exalted above the hills; and peoples shall flow to it. 2 Many
nations shall come and say,
“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the
LORD, to the house of
the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways,
and we shall
walk in His paths.”
For out of Zion the law shall go forth,
and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 3 He shall judge between many peoples, and rebuke
strong nations afar off; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not
lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore. 4 But everyone
shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, and no one shall make them afraid; for the mouth of the LORD of
hosts has spoken. 5 For all people walk each in the name of his god, but we
will walk in the name of the LORD our God forever and ever.
Zion’s
Future Triumph
6 “’In that day,’ says the LORD, ‘I will assemble the lame, I will gather the outcast
and those whom I have afflicted; 7 I will make the lame a remnant, and the outcast a strong
nation’; so the LORD will reign over them in Mount Zion from now on, even forever.”
Micah
6:8 8 “He has shown you, O man, what is good;
and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
According to Nahum
Nahum 1:6-7
6 Who can stand before His
indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and
the rocks are thrown down by Him. 7 The LORD is good, a stronghold
in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

and distress, a day of devastation and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,”
Zeph.2:3
3 “Seek the LORD, all
you meek of the earth, who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It
may be that you will be hidden in the day of the LORD’s anger.”
Zeph.3:17-20
17 “The LORD your God

He will rejoice over you with singing. 18 ‘I will gather those who sorrow over the
appointed assembly, who are among you, to whom its reproach is a burden. 19
“’Behold, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you; I will save the lame, and gather those who were driven
out; I will appoint them for praise and fame in every land where they were put to shame. 20
At that time I will bring you back, even at the time I gather you; for I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples
of the earth, when I return your captives before your eyes,’ says the LORD.”
According
to Haggai
Haggai
2:6-7 6 “For thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth,
the sea and dry land; 7 and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All
Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,’ says the LORD of hosts.”
According
to Zechariah
Zechariah
1:16,19 16 “Therefore thus says the LORD: ‘I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,’ says the LORD of hosts, ‘and a surveyor’s
line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.’ “
19 “And I said to the angel who talked with me, ‘What
are these?’ So he answered me, ‘These are the horns that have scattered Judah,
Israel, and Jerusalem.’ ”
Zech.2:4,6,10-11 “ … Jerusalem shall be
inhabited as towns without walls, … “
Future Joy
of Zion and Many Nations
6 “ ‘Up, up! Flee from the land of the north,’ says the LORD; ‘for I have spread you
abroad like the four winds of heaven,’ says the LORD. 10 ‘Sing
and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,’ says the LORD. 11
‘Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day
Day of the LORD, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know
that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you.’ “
Zech.4:11-14
11 “Then I answered
and said to him, ‘What are these two olive trees—at the
right of the lampstand and at its left?’ 12
And I further answered and said to him, ‘What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles
of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?’ 13
Then he answered me and said, ‘Do you not know what these are?’ And I said, ‘No,
my lord.’ 14 So he said,
‘These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.’ ”
Zech.6:1-5,12-13
Vision of the Four Chariots
1
“Then I turned and raised my eyes and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming from between two mountains,
and the mountains were mountains of bronze. 2 With the first chariot were red
horses, with the second chariot black horses, 3 with the third chariot white horses, and with
the fourth chariot dappled horses—strong steeds. 4 Then I answered and said to
the angel who talked with me, ‘What are these, my lord?’ 5
And the angel answered and said to me, ‘These are four spirits of heaven, who go out from their station
before the Lord of all the earth.’ “
12 “Then speak to him, saying, ‘Thus
says the LORD of hosts, saying: ‘ Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place
He shall branch out, and He shall build the temple of the LORD; 13 Yes, He shall build the temple
of the LORD. He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on His throne; so He shall be a priest on His throne,
and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.’ ”
Zech.8:3,7-9
3 “Thus says the LORD: ‘ I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst
of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called the City of Truth, the Mountain of the LORD of hosts, the Holy Mountain.’
“
7 “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘ Behold, I will save My people from the land of the east and
from the land of the west; 8 I will bring them back, and they shall dwell in the
midst of Jerusalem. They shall be My people and I will be their God, in truth and righteousness.’ 9
Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘ Let your hands be strong, you who have been hearing in these days
these words by the mouth of the prophets, who spoke in the day the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD
of hosts, that the temple might be built.’ ”
Zech.9:14,16 14 “Then the LORD
will be seen over them, and His arrow will go forth like lightning. The Lord GOD will blow the trumpet, and
go with whirlwinds from the south…”
16 “The LORD their God will save them
in that day Day
of the LORD, as the flock of His people. For they shall be like the jewels of a crown, lifted
like a banner over His land—“
Zech.12:2-3,9-11
2 “Behold, I will make
Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3
And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away
will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.”
9
“It shall be in that day Day of the LORD that I will seek to destroy
all the nations that come against Jerusalem.”
Mourning for the Pierced One
10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and
supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns
for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. 11
In that day (Day of the LORD) there shall be a great mourning in Jerusalem, like the mourning at Hadad Rimmon in the plain of Megiddo.”
Zech.14:1-20
The Day
of the LORD
1 “Behold, the Day of the LORD is coming, and
your spoil will be divided in your midst. 2 For I will gather all the nations to battle
against Jerusalem; the city shall be taken, the houses rifled, and the women ravished. Half of the city shall go into
captivity, but the remnant of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then the LORD will go forth and fight against those nations, as He fights
in the day of battle. 4
And in that day (Day
of the LORD) His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. And the Mount of Olives shall be split in two, from east to west, making a very
large valley; half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south. 5
Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, for the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee
as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD my God will come, and all the saints with You. 6 It shall come to pass in that
day that there will be no light; the lights will diminish. 7 It shall be one day
which is known to the LORD — neither day nor night. But at evening time it shall happen that it will
be light. 8 And in that day it shall be that living waters shall flow from
Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and half of them toward the western sea; in both summer and winter
it shall occur. 9 And the LORD shall be King over all the earth. In that day
it shall be — the LORD is one,” And His name one. 10
All the land shall be turned into a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall
be raised up and inhabited in her place from Benjamin’s Gate to the place of the First Gate and the Corner Gate, and
from the Tower of Hananel to the king’s winepresses. 11 The people
shall dwell in it; and no longer shall there be utter destruction, but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited. 12
And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall
dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues shall dissolve in their
mouths.
13 It shall come to pass in that day (Day
of the LORD) that a great panic from the LORD will be among them. Everyone will seize the
hand of his neighbor, and raise his hand against his neighbor’s hand; 14 Judah also will
fight at Jerusalem. And the wealth of all the surrounding nations shall be gathered together: Gold,
silver, and apparel in great abundance. 15 Such also shall be the plague on the horse and
the mule, on the camel and the donkey, and on all the cattle that will be in those camps. So shall this plague
be.”
The Nations Worship the King
16 “And it shall come to pass that
everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the
LORD of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 And it shall be that
whichever of the families of the earth do not come up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, on them there will
be no rain. 18 If the family of Egypt will not come up and enter in, they shall have
no rain; they shall receive the plague with which the LORD strikes the nations who do not come up to keep the Feast
of Tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the
nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles. 20 In that day
‘HOLINESS TO THE LORD’ ..”
According to Malachi
Malachi 3:1-3,7,16
The Coming
Messenger
1 “ ‘Behold, I send My messenger, and he will prepare the way
before Me. And the
Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple, even the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,’ says the
LORD of hosts. 2 ‘But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when
He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire, and like launderers’ soap. 3 He will sit as a refiner and a purifier
of silver; He will purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the LORD an offering
in righteousness’….”
7 “ ‘Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone
away from My ordinances and have not kept them. Return to Me, and I will return to you,’ says the
LORD of hosts. ‘But you said, ‘ In what way shall we return?’ … “
16 “Then those who feared
the LORD spoke to one another, and the LORD listened and heard them; so a book of remembrance was written before
Him for those who fear the LORD and who meditate on His name.”
Malachi 4:5-6
5 “Behold, I will send
you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD. 6 And
he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike
the earth with a curse.”
